Investigation of Vacuum Sealing Drainage Combined with Micro Incision in the Treatment of Osteofascial Compartment Syndrome after Acute Arterial Damage

Abstract:Objective:To evaluate vacuum sealing drainage(VSD) combined with micro incision in the treatment of osteofascial compartment syndrome after acute arterial damage.Method:From Nov 2008 to Oct 2010,22 patients(23 lower limbs) with osteofascial compartment syndrome after acute arterial damage were analyzed,all had micro incision of the limbs and covered with VSD.Result:17/23 limbs had fresh granulation,swollen decreased in 13/23 limbs.17/23 had secondary suture.6/23 limbs were debrided and covered with VSD again,and then sutured.All the sutured wound healed with no infection or skin graft.Conclusion:VSD combined with micro incision can effectively reduce osteofascial compartment syndrome after acute arterial damage.It can also reduce wound infection,facilitate wound healing,shorten length of hospital stay and reduce medical costs.
