Meta-analysis of Effectiveness of Metronidazole Amino Acidum Natrium on Radiotherapy for Esophageal Carcinoma

Abstract:Objective Evaluate the effectiveness and safety of metronidazole amino acidum natrium in enhancing sensitive on radiotherapy for esophageal carcinoma.Methods By computerbased and handsearched retrieval,we reviewed and assess systematically all the randomised controlled trials on radiotherapy for esophageal carcinoma according to the way recommend by.The cochrane collaboration.Results 13 RCTs including 1 144 patients were braught into this study.Analying the test provided the same kind of data.The patients in metronidazole amino acidum natrium group treated with Metronidazole amino acidum natrium 800 mg/m2,three times a week based on radiotherapy,continuous to the end of treatment.Results:the metronidazole amino acidum natrium group complete remission rate(CR=50%) was higher than the radiotherapy alone group(CR=26%),;the effective response rate [(CR+PR)=94%] was higher than that in the radiotherapy alone group[(CR+PR)=84%,OR=2.95,95% CI(2.00,4.36)];the incidence of adverse reactions in metronidazole amino acidum natrium group was not statistically significant differences comparing to the radiotherapy only group(P0.05).Conclusion Metronidazole amino acidum natrium has obvious sensitization effect on radiotherapy for esophageal carcinoma.By using process there was no obvious adverse reaction.Metronidazole amino acidum natrium is a kind of safe and effective radiotherapy sensitization agent.
