Abstract:The Zhou Dynasty was replaced by Chin,but Chin perished rapidly.The characteristic of the philosophical thought in the later era is resonating.Its manifestations include three facts: first,the change of academic thought from "Tao and De lose their unity ",which means "the Tao will be dissevered by all the people of the world",to "proscribing all non-Confucian schools and only espousing Confucianism";second,the transformation in homage for kingship from losing kingship in the Eastern Zhou Dynasty to autocracy of the centralized country;third,the veer of central topic about the trend of philosophical thought from "the connotations of Tao and De" to the inductions between Heaven and man.In early Han Dynasty,in order to restore social production and give people a respite,the dominators selected the Huang and Lao’s learning which is featured quiescent and stands to do nothing.Emperor Wu of Western Han adopted Tung Chung-shu's advice and only respected Confucianism.With the institutionalization of Confucianism,the Five Classics became a carrier of values and ideals about society and lives in the Han Dynasty.During the period of Xin Dynasty founded by Wang Mang,the learning of Chen and Wei began to be prevalent.The dominators used it as a means to achieve some political purposes.The conference held in Baihu Temple stipulated fundamentals about state decrees and institution,ethical and moral standards and criterionofthought and behavior.It made the institutionalization of Confucianism with legitimate meaning.
