The Preparation and Application of Betaine

Abstract:The research progress about the preparation and application of betaine is reviewed.The preparation of betaine has two methods:first,the separate preparation was extracted from beet sugar process wastehoney;second,artificial synthesing is made by chemical method.Betaine is a Quarternary alkaloid,which is widely found in animals,plants and microbe.As a methyl donor,it can modulate metabolism in animal.At present,betaine has very wide range of applications in the feed additives and pharmaceutical industries,agricultural and forest production,food additives,daily chemicals and other fields.
