Clinical nursing care of 80 ischemic stroke patients treated with integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine in the stroke unit

Abstract:Objective: To explore the clinical nursing methods in the treatment of ischemic stroke patients with integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine in the stroke unit.Methods: 80 patients were given a series of stroke unit management,including careful nursing care in acute stage,diet care following TCM theory,rehabilitation care,emotional care,health education,discharge guidance and regular telephone follow-up.Results: Good limb rehabilitation was obtained in 49 of 80 patients(61.25%) and they could take part in general work,without language barriers;mild limb weakness was in 16 patients(20.00%) and they could live independently;12 patients(15.00%) could basically take care of themselves with the help of their families;2 patients(2.50%) were in decerebration state after relapse of the disease;one patient(1.25%) died.Conclusion: The integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine in the treatment of ischemic stroke patients in the stroke unit can reduce fatality rate and disability rate so as to improve the patient's quality of life.
