Abstract:As a new educational concept, "curriculum ideology and politics" has been widely concerned by the academic circle, showing a rapid popularity in colleges and universities. At the same time, under the high attention and continuous promotion of the state, colleges and universities across the country continue to accelerate the construction and development of curriculum ideology and politics. College Chinese course, as a public basic course set by colleges for non-Chinese language and literature majors, has the characteristics of ideology, tool and humanity, has the unique advantages of combining with curriculum ideological and political construction, and is an important position and advantageous platform to promote the construction of college curriculum ideological and political construction. Therefore, we should give full play to its important value and role in cultural identity, ideological identity and value identity, give full play to the leading in curriculum ideological and political reform, strengthen teachers' awareness of carrying out curriculum ideological and political education, optimize teaching content, dig deep into the ideological and political elements in college Chinese curriculum, pay attention to the combination of theory and practice, Adhere to the unity of explicit education and implicit education, and constantly improve the quality of college personnel training.

Abstract:To develop the “Guidelines on College English Teaching” in China, the evaluation group of the National Advisory Committee for College Foreign Language Teaching (NACCFLT) under the Ministry of Education recently conducted a survey of the needs for the reform of College English curriculum evaluation. Data were collected from 571 teachers and 1266 students in 21 universities in various parts of the country. This paper, based on a review of the development of College English curriculum evaluation in the past three decades and drawing on the survey results, puts forward some suggestions which are intended to provide a foundation for formulating the evaluation component of the Guidelines.

Abstract:Communications between countries all over the world are becoming more and more frequent, and cultural exchanges are an indispensable component. Traditional Chinese culture teaching stresses the input of cultural facts, and then it is difficult to be transformed into intercultural communication competence. Abstract:Chinese characters have been the most challenging aspect of the language to American learners. Whether or not and how to teach Chinese characters to beginner learners have been debated since the 1930s. Nowadays, the ubiquitous presence of computers and tablets has complicated how Chinese characters should be integrated in the curriculum. It is important to systematically review what scholars have proposed regarding curriculum design for teaching characters in the United States. In this systematic review study, an exhaustive search through the past nine decades of scholarship on teaching Chinese characters identified 16 peer-reviewed journal articles published since 1937 that focused on teaching Chinese characters at the level of course design and overall curriculum design for a Chinese program. Two themes regarding character teaching – when and what to teach – were identified. Each theme was analyzed in detail, and a tentative model was proposed based on that analysis.

Abstract:Based on the analysis of the present college English teaching in China, this paper puts forward a new theory that Chinese college English teaching is now entering upon a critical stage of transition in history, a stage characterized by the increasingly fuzzy divide between ELT at the secondary level and at the tertiary level (also between English major and non-English major), and the shift of ELT from uniformity to individuality. It calls for studies of such issues as individualized teaching and learning requirements and individualized tests, turning general English into English for specific purposes at college and university, and rethinking Chinese college English teaching system.
