Abstract:We introduced the evaluation of built environment course into the architecture design education for juniors.Students took campus buildings as the evaluation subjects,determined evaluation content by their day-to-day experience,and obtained objective data and forms through questionnaires and interviews,which represented thoughts and responses of users in the constructed environment.Based on the evaluation,we further discussed on the relation between the design intention and the usage effect of constructed environment to train students' abilities of comprehensively understanding architecture designs,and finding and solving problems.

Abstract:Because of its open water and open space, urban waterfront area becomes preferred place for local residents’ and foreign tourists’ leisure activities. At the same time, its excellent geographic location and natural land resources make it the primary object of attention on urban growth and renewal, resulting in different orientations of development of urban waterfront area. Based on a time-space dimension, this article reviews a number of foreign and domestic related literatures, summarizes five orientations of development models in domestic urban waterfront area, that is, the orientation of traffic channel, settlements quality, edge cities, heritage enclave and compound development. And also, this article focuses on analyzing the functions and spatial characteristics of the above five orientations. In addition, it proposes an urban waterfront development "horoscope" model and draws a comparative summary on the orientations of development from the aspects of spatial characteristics, leading function and the typical form of development. Finally, it proposes some pertinent observations and recommendations on urban waterfront development.

Abstract:University education is thought to foster research-typed talent at least since Wilhelm von Humboldt. But with great changes in diploma ladder, higher education has changed its nature from elite as profound education to mass as basic one. University education has been divided in two according to its mission: one is for preparation for scholarship and the other for future life. As a result, the traditional educational aim for university, namely the Research-typed talent, is no longer suitable for university education nowadays. As for intermediate undergraduate education, in which education is a blend of the two referred above, there is a greater complexity in their educational aims and models. So it is of great significance to explore the nature, educational aim and running model of intermediate undergraduate education.

Abstract:At present, part of the responsibility of educational evaluation has shifted from teachers to students who have become the important participants in higher educational quality evaluation. Higher education evaluation in five Nordic Countries as Iceland, Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden has attached importance to students' participation in the evaluation process which has led to good effect. By adopting various methods, the evaluation agencies and evaluated higher educational institutions of Nordic Countries have the students participate in the formulation of evaluation plan, the establishment of external evaluation groups, self-evaluation of universities and institutes and spot investigation and evaluation report release. By national legislation, the involvement right of the students from the level of system is guaranteed and gives play to the subjectivity of students' participation and guarantee the participation degree of the students' participation with various methods. Students' participation in the quality evaluation of higher education should have a degree of participation. Only when the degree is well handled can the advantages be brought into play and the disadvantages overcome.

Abstract:This article focuses on the 2009-2010 freshman orientation courses at Nanjing University.Based on the quasi-experimental survey and interview data,the results show the orientation courses are very popular among freshman.College freshman show significant progresses in the class participation and the social activities,less in study methodology,major-recognition,and self-recognition.The orientation course make the freshman adjustment process shorter and relieve their adjustment stress.The study suggests that universities should open other related courses which could maintain the orientation courses effects.
