Abstract:Nearly zero -energy buildings (nZEBs) are one of the crucial paths to achieving carbon neutrality in the construction industry. Office park buildings have developed rapidly in recent years, and their carbon emissions cannot be ignored. At present, research on the optimization of office building envelopes mainly targets a particular office building in non -industrial parks, lacks a multi -objective comprehensive evaluation of the embodied carbon and economics of photovoltaic (PV) technology, and does not take into account the specific parameters of the PV in different PV deployment scenarios. This study, therefore, takes new office park buildings as the research object because these buildings are characterized by uniformity of type, regularity of form, and a high potential for PV application. We establish a multi-objective optimization (MOO) model for the office park building envelope, comprehensively considering energy consumption, thermal comfort, embodied carbon, and economy. The model optimizes the building envelope's performance parameters, including the PV's area and location in different PV deployment scenarios. Specifically, we consider new PV materials such as perovskite. In the hot summer and cold winter climate zones, we find that after reaching the 20 % energy-saving rate target, further improving the enclosure structure's heat preservation and insulation performance will substantially increase the incremental cost per unit area. Still, the improvement effect on energy -saving and thermal comfort is not apparent. Under both scenarios, PV on the roof and PV on both the roof and facade, the energy savings are significant, and the net energy consumption of the latter scenario( -28.4 similar to 16.5 Wh/(m(2)& sdot;a)) decreases more compared to the baseline building (23.5 kWh/(m(2)& sdot;a)). The payback benefits of the two scenarios are vastly improved from 49 years in the no PV scenario to 11-12 years, respectively.
