Competition Between Supply Chains with Different Return Policies

Abstract:Literatures on return policies often overlook the impact of the differences between return policies upon the competition between supply chains.Drawing on the methodology of the game theory,the paper studies,frome the perspective of inter -chain competition,the influence of different return policies on the sales volume of the retailers and on the profits of the chain members.The scenario studied here involves two supply chains with only one of them allowing return of products,detailed discussion is carried out and some insights are arrived at.
