Abstract:Normal universities enjoy the traditional advantage in teachers’education for their long term of teachers’ education activity. The advantage ought to be fully enhanced and exhibited. However,with the shift of the system of teachers’education from the closed to the open,the development space of the normal universities has been severely squeezed with more and more participation of the comprehensive universities in teachers’education. As a result, normal universities encounter the decline of the competitive power and advantage in teachers’education. Consequently, it is urgent for normal universities to gain development advantage and form the development pattern characterized by teachers’education. In the progress of building the first-class normal university. In Shaanxi Normal University,we should strengthen the advantage of teachers’education as to form the first-class development pattern supported by the discipline of teachers’education. The development strategies are:enforce the structural reform and promote the general development of teachers’education resources;strengthen the disciplinary construction dominated by teachers’education as to reveal the characteristics of normal university;enhance the curriculum construction of teachers’education as to cultivate“the Outstanding Teachers”to guide the basic education in the west;actively consolidate research in basic education and form a research ground to lead the development of education in the west;and intensify the construction of social service system and build a powerful engine to lead the education development in the west.
