Abstract:OBJECTIVE To investigate the effect of laminar flow clean operating room on the incidence of surgical incision infections so as to provide basis for the arrangement of operating room as well as for the control of surgical incision infections.METHODS Totally 1652 cases of operations in the ordinary operating rooms from Jan 2010 to Jun 2011 and 842 cases of operations in laminar flow clean operating rooms from Jul 2011 to Jun 2012 were enrolled in the study,then the clinical data of the cases were retrospectively analyzed,and the incidence of surgical incision infections was compared between the ordinary operating rooms and the laminar flow clean operating rooms.RESULTS The total incidence rate of surgical incision infections in the ordinary operating rooms was 2.66%,significantly higher than 1.31% in the laminar flow clean operating rooms(P0.05).In the laminar flow clean operating rooms,the incidence rate of typeⅠincision infection was 0%,the type Ⅱ incision infections 0.40%,and the type Ⅲ incision infections 5.10%;in the ordinary operating rooms,the incidence rate of the typeⅠincision infection was 1.14%,the type Ⅱ incision infection 2.48%,and the type Ⅲ incision infection 5.77%,the incidence rate of the type Ⅰ incision infection or the typeⅡ incision infection was significantly lower in the laminar flow clean operating rooms than in the ordinary operating rooms(P0.05);the difference in the incidence rate of type Ⅲ incision infection between the laminar flow clean operating rooms and the ordinary operating rooms was not statistically significant.CONCLUSION The laminar flow clean operating room may decrease the incidence rate of the type Ⅰ incision infections or type Ⅱ incision infections,it is conducive to the control of nosocomial infections.
