Abstract:Formation of the landslides in the Yalong River reservoir area of Lianghekou hydropower station was related to stratum lithology,slope geological structure and valley physiognomy.In the reservoir area,most of the large scale landslides occurred in the slopes which have mid-steep inverse laminar structure made up of slate or slate and mid-thin layer sandstone interbedded and steep consequent structure made up of slate.On physiognomy,the landslides mainly occurred in the concave bank in valleys and some mountain ridges with three directions free face.The main mode of slope failure is bend-rip failure.
