Abstract:Chemical plant protection, which refers to using plant protection machinery sprays chemical pesticides, is the most important technology for pest and disease control at present, an important technical guarantee for food security, and also is essential for safeguarding agricultural production. Pesticide, spray technology and plant protection machinery are called the three pillars of chemical plant protection, which having been becoming a hot research topic in the world. Efficient, precise and intelligent spray technology and equipment can provide guarantee for the improvement of pesticide efficacy and utilization. With the issues of agricultural product safety and environmental protection getting more and more attention from the public, the research and development direction of Chinese plant protection field will gradually turn to intelligent and precision spraying technology and equipment. Since 2010 year, the great development potential and application value of intelligent and precision spraying technologies and equipment have been widely recognized worldwide. In this article, the main precision spraying technologies were reviewed, the research status, typical representative and application progress of plant protection equipment in different working scenarios were classified and summarized. The challenges in the development of precision spraying were analyzed, the countermeasures and suggestions were put forward. This research can provide new methods and new ideas not only for implementation of China's pesticide reduction plan, the promotion of intelligent plant protection equipment and precision spraying technology, but for the development of modern agriculture.

Abstract:Diseases and pests are important factors in vegetable cultivation; they not only affect the growth and appearance of vegetables but also affect the yield and quality. The disease and pest control of vegetables is dominated by chemical sprays, for now. As a result, the excessive use of pesticides has been a crucial factor of pesticides’ non-point source pollution, and it is also the main cause of excessive pesticide residues in vegetables. Therefore, the design of efficient plant protection machinery and technology has become an urgent demand in order to ensure the quality and safety of vegetables. In this review, the machinery and technologies for vegetable protection are introduced from the aspects of chemical control and physical control. In the aspect of chemical control, handheld sprayers, self-propelled or track sprayers, fixed-pipe spray systems, vertical and horizontal boom sprayers, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and vegetable seed treatment techniques are introduced. In the aspect of physical control, soil physical disinfection, pest trapping technologies and ozone sterilizers are introduced. Finally, the existing problems and perspectives of pesticide application sprayers and physical control equipment for vegetables are summarized. This paper can provide references for vegetable growers and researchers.

Abstract:China has achieved great progress in building paint,including the development of paint construction tools such as the increase of roller variety,development of spraying machine,application of auxiliary construction equipment,the development of painting construction technologies such as those of Aluminum plastics decorative film and multi-coat metal-glossy paint,renovation and re-painting of old exterior wall as well as construction of functional building paint etc.Analysis is made on the existing problems in the construction of building paint which have affected the application of building paint,in particular,exterior wall paint in China,and restrained its development.

Abstract:Intensive agricultural production is impossible without the use of plant protection products that contribute to high yields. Agricultural producers highly evaluate the chemical method of plant protection based on the wide use of sprayers as a more efficient and productive one. The analysis of modern sprayers has shown that their design is subject to the dominating trend of increasing productivity, a working width and a tank capacity, improving the quality of work, improving the main components and equipment, using various automation tools to reduce the environmental impact. There are also some long-term trends in the development of autonomous robotic machines and unmanned aerial vehicles, combined into a single intelligent precision farming system. It is noted that the following operating parameters of the sprayer greatly influence the quality indicators of the chemical treatment of plants: the unit speed; the rod installation height and its stability during operation; pressure in the working fluid supply system and nozzle operation parameters (the diameter of droplets formed, the degree of wear and clogging). Environmental parameters also have a significant impact: relative humidity and air temperature, wind speed and the amount of precipitation. To ensure high quality, efficiency, and environmental safety of chemical plant protection, it is necessary to improve the technical means of plant protection through optimizing the main operating parameters, introducing advanced technical solutions aimed at increasing the technological process efficiency; introducing automation and robotization systems of technical means used for plant protection; designing autonomous robotic machines and unmanned aerial vehicles, combined into a single intelligent system of precision farming.

Abstract:Research and application of botanical pesticides, including plant chem ical defense, botanical pesticides, plant protestants, and tropical plant pestic ides are briefly reviewed. The research and application of botanical bactericide s and botanical herbicides are far less intensive and extensive compared with th e botanical insecticides. However, current researches indicates that a wide rang e of plants had the capacity of controlling weeds, bacteria and fungi. There is, therefore, a great prospect to exploit plant resources to develop bactericides, fungicides and herbicides.

Abstract:Introduction: The traditional spraying system is not suitable for agricultural plant protection in small plots due to its disadvantages of weak droplet refining ability, small spraying area, large pesticide consumption, and high manual spraying cost. At present, spraying pesticide is the main way to resist crop diseases and insect pests. The utilization rate of pesticide is only 38.8% in China, which leads to serious waste and serious environmental pollution. It is necessary to develop advanced plant protection equipment and pesticide application technology to solve the problem. The combination of agricultural plant protection vehicle and electrostatic spray technology may solve the problems of spraying efficiency, droplet adsorption rate and evenness. It is of great significance to improve the efficiency of plant protection and pesticide utilization. Methods: In this paper, the principle of droplet charging is described, an electrostatic spraying system is designed and tested, and the effects of charging voltage and pump pressure on the droplet charge ratio and droplet size are analyzed. Results and discussion: This study has shown that electrostatic spraying systems are suitable for agricultural plant protection unmanned vehicles.

Abstract:The chemical pesticides have played important roles in controlling pests,reducing the hazards and ensuring food security,while long-term irrational use of chemicals resulted in many disadvantages such as 3R problem (Resistance,Residue and Resurgence).This paper reviewed the research and application technologies of ‘Green Plant Protection’ on pest management in paddy fields in China based on reducing the initial population size of rice insect pests,decreasing population growth rate of rice insect pests,increasing environmental resistance to insect pests in rice-based ecosystem,application of biological control agents and chemical control for emergency.A suitable green control technology system should be set up in different places by selection of different technologies based on local conditions,climatic conditions and characteristics of rice pests.Then,it is encouraged to promote the application of the suitable green control technology system with demonstration area construction and multiform,multi-level training to cater to the aim of reduction in chemical insecticide use and damage by rice insect pests.

Abstract:Plant protection unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) play a crucial role in agricultural aviation services. In recent years, plant protection UAVs, which improve the accuracy and eco-friendliness of agricultural techniques, have been used to overcome the shortcomings of traditional agricultural operations. First, this paper introduces the development scale, main types, and operation scenarios of China’s plant protection UAVs. Subsequently, the key technologies of plant protection UAVs, such as precision autonomous flight control, pesticide spraying, drift control, and spraying quality measurement technologies, are reviewed. Next, the emergent technologies of plant protection UAVs are studied and analyzed with a focus on better spray effects, calculation models of droplet drift, controllable droplet size atomization technology, droplet drift detection technology, and droplet deposition quality detection technology in the application of plant protection UAVs. Moreover, the technologies of plant protection UAV application are summarized and future research prospects are presented, offering ideas for follow-up research on the key technologies of plant protection UAVs and encouraging agricultural production management to move toward better efficiency, eco-friendliness, and accuracy.

Abstract:Variable-rate technology (VRT) plays an important role in the site-specific management system of agriculture. There are two basic methods of implementing site-specific management (SSM) for the variable-rate application of crop production inputs: map-based and sensor-based. The paper introduced and compared the principles of different variable-rate application systems, as well as their advantages and disadvantages. Variable-rate pesticide application is an important part of variable-rate technology and the research and application situation of this technology are discussed in detail. As a crucial implement part, variable rate nozzles are analyzed and summarized. Finally, the paper pointed out the direction of VRT and some principles that attention should be paid in the study of VRT.

Abstract:As one of the representatives of precision agriculture, variable spray technology has made great progress in the development and application of technology in recent years. This paper describes the principle and characteristics of variable spray technology, and outlines the development results of variable spray technology in target detection, automatic control, and spray application. In terms of target detection technology, automatic target spray technology based on real-time sensors and automatic target spray technology based on geographic information technology are introduced; In control technology, pressure control flow regulation technology, PWM control flow regulation technology and liquid chemical concentration mixed regulation system are described. Abstract:From the raindrops of lightning to atomized droplets used in many fields, research on electrostatic spray technology has both a natural basis and practical significance. The utilization of electrostatic spray technology has covered the biological, food, pharmaceutical, industrial, agricultural, chemical, and manufacturing industries. To provide comprehensive information about the technology, this review presents a typical electrostatic spray system in terms of its atomization mechanism, electrostatic spray modes, and several kinds of basic parameters. This review focuses on the applications of electrostatic spray technology in the fields of nanomaterial preparation, agricultural plant protection, wet flue gas desulfurization (WFGD), and fuel combustion. This paper comprehensively surveys already well-established or future potential applications of electrostatic spray technology.

Abstract:In the paper, proceeding from three technology systems of precision agriculture, briefly introduced the development overview about the information acquiring system, information process system and intelligent agricultural machinery. By analyzing each kind of equipment, the technology, the method in the concrete application at these three systems, explained respective advantage and disadvantage. Thought that current research mostly concentrated on the large-scale state farm or the agricultural demonstration garden area, neglected the low-intensified-degree and the dispersible management situation, it pointed out that current research should be on the basis of introducing and digesting foreign advanced technology and combine the national conditions of our country to develop low-cost technological achievement with independent intellectual property rights.

Development Status and Prospect on Equipment Application of Thermal Spray Technology

Abstract:Thermal spraying is an important method of coating preparation in the field of equipment surface engineering, which has achieved continuous development in the processing of functional coating and the remanufacturing of waste parts. It has also been used in the field of near net forming or material manufacturing related to metals, ceramics and other materials, which shows good development potential. This paper reviews the application of thermal spraying in the surface protection of aircraft engines and landing gears. It mainly uses plasma thermal spraying technology to make ceramic coating and new CBN coating to improve the antioxidative activity and prolong the life of the coating significantly. The development status and application of typical equipment were analyzed in the thermal spraying field, such as stealth equipment, anti-corrosion and anti-skid coatings of ship, protection from sand and dust in helicopter and direct additive manufacturing of parts. For example, the electromagnetic wave absorption coating of equipment overcomes the problem of multi-spectrum. “Navy Advanced Amorphous Coating” overcomes the anti-wear and anti-corrosion problems of the deck. The key problems affecting the development of thermal spraying are analyzed from the technical level. It is urgent to break through weak links such as coating residual stress, interface bonding strength and structural defects. Finally, some development directions were put forward about the additive manufacturing and remanufacturing field. This paper mainly summarizes the application status of thermal spraying technology in typical weapons and equipment. The key technical issues affecting the development of thermal spraying are analyzed, which fills the blank of military thermal spraying review.

Abstract:Air-assisted boom sprayer is proven to be one of the best pesticide application methods to achieve uniform deposition of droplets in the canopy and improve the effective utilization of pesticides. However, the air flow velocity, air flow volume and air flow direction of the orchard sprayer should match the characteristic parameters of the target canopy, equipment spraying parameters and meteorological conditions so as to improve the spraying quality and reduce environmental pollution. This paper elaborates on the research status of air-assisted field sprayers and orchard sprayers, summarizes the research methods of air-assisted sprayers in four aspects, including experimental verification, theoretical analysis, simulation and structural optimization, and clarifies the advantages and disadvantages of these methods. It also presents two future research and development trends, including the intelligent, precise dynamic regulation of air flow velocity, air flow volume and air flow direction and the instant feedback of spraying quality, hoping to provide a reference for the research of air-assisted spray technology and equipment.

Abstract:In orchard plant protection application, an anti-drift strategy can effectively reduce drift in the non-target area, reduce spray drift in the environment, and avoid spray leakage and overspraying. To clarify the future development direction of orchard plant protection mechanization technology, this review introduces the development status of an anti-drift spray nozzle and the impact of different types of spray nozzles on the potential of drift, and then, it analyzes the research progress on air-assisted spraying, recycling spraying, profiling spraying, target variable spraying technologies, and plant protection UAVs. It also provides a general analysis of the above spraying technologies on the amount of drift and the impact of pesticide deposition. Finally, combined with the characteristics of orchard plant protection, the paper presents the research and development of anti-drift nozzles, pesticide adjuvant, air-assisted spraying technology, electrostatic, recycling spraying technology, profiling and target variable spraying technology, and plant protection UAVs. The review provides a reference for the development of an anti-drift strategy for orchard plant protection production.
