Reflections on Aeromedical Evacuation in Yushu Earthquake Relief

Abstract:Objective To provide scientific proofs for improving the medical evacuation of the disaster relief by analyzing the example of Yushu earthquake aeromedical evacuation service.Methods By carrying out systematically survey of the Yushu Earthquake aeromedical evacuation and analytical study of the relevant data,to sum up the general situations of the flow sheet of the aeromedical evacuation,the staged rescues in Yushu earthquake and organizing of aeromedical evacuation.Results The medical evacuation in Yushu earthquake can be divided into three levels.The independent system of the military medical evacuation was not formed,and the specialized medical transportation capacity was in short and the classification treatment needed improvements.Conclusions In aeromedical evacuation of the extraordinary earthquake,strict mastery and application of classification treatment principle must be needed.Great emphasis should be put on the founding of the organizational system in aeromedical evacuation of earthquake,the specialized medical transportation capacity of the intermediate stage and the strategy of classification treatment,in order to ensure the wounded to receive the best treatment.
