Abstract:The polymorphism of Kappa-casein gene and its effects on performance were analyzed in the 176 Angora rabbit population. The results showed that two alleles (A, B) of Kappa-casein gene were detected and their frequencies were 0.79 and 0.21, three genotypes (AA, AB and BB) were detected and their frequencies were 0.66, 0.25, 0.09, respectively. Analysis on the relation between the different genotypes of Kappa-casein gene and performance of Angora rabbits. Two genotypes(AA, BB) had a significant effect on the 315-day body weight(P 0.05), two genotypes (AB, BB) had a significant effect on the number born of Angora rabbit (P 0.05) and two genotypes (AA, BB) had a significant effect on the 21-day litter weight(P 0.05).

Relationship Between Polymorphism of Kappa-casein Gene and Performance in Angora Rabbits
