Analysis on Direct-Cost of Intravenous Infusion in Zhejiang,Hubei,Shaanxi and Shanghai

Abstract:Objectives:Provide basic evident for rational medical service price policymaking by comparing the difference between the actual direct-cost and price of intravenous infusion. Methods:Direct costs of intravenous infusion in eight hospitals in Shanghai, Zhejiang, Hubei and Shanxi province were selected. Results:The direct costs of intravenous infusion were significantly different among different areas in China. In most of these areas, the government guided price is too low. Conclusions:It is recommended that the government should raise the intravenous infusion fees to reflect the value of medical work, and establish elastic adjustment and monitoring mechanisms of medical price.
