Preparation of CPC Carried by Eucommia Ulmoides Oliv. Extracts

Abstract:Eucommia ulmoides Oliv.,(a Chinese medicine) has an ability to stimulate bone growth.This study aims to incorporate eucommia ulmoide Oliv.(EUO) into calcium phosphate cement(CPC) to form a high quality bone-repaired material.The physicochemical features and the compression strength of the CPC were determined.The results show there are not obvious differences in set time,compressive strength,pH value of the eucommia ulmoide Oliv.extract incorporated CPC.This implies that the incorporation of eucommia ulmoides Oliv.extracts have no influence on the physicochemical properties of CPC.
