Abstract:This paper elaborates the development of spatial structure in our country.Because the forms and types are colorful and incessantly innovating,it is necessary to divide spatial structure by component elements.After the 21th century,the development of our nation’s spatial structure comes into a new period that the application range and fields for spatial structure extend continuously.Besides the large-span public buildings such as gymnasiums and airports,there are extensive and innovative applications including large-scale railway stations,stations awning without column,bridges and high-rise buildings for spatial structure.About the international cooperation,it is suggested to have an open mind and optimistic view towards the fact that that architecture scheme for our nation’s spatial structures are frequently led by foreign companies.China is already a country with a great deal of the top of the world spatial structures,thus it is our responsibility to strive to create even better and advanced spatial structures.Some issues which we should pay more attention are pointed out.

Abstract:Under the background of China's booming economy and opening up,the model of architecture and urban planning education must make more attempts for responding to new realities.The cooperation program of joint-teaching-workshop between China and foreign countries of Zhejiang University is taken as an example to analyze the teaching content and organizational structure of workshops,which include investigation,design,reporting comments.Furthermore,this paper explores the way of improving the professional practice ability of undergraduate and graduate students in the context of international exchange by the new model of teaching-workshops,and attempts to analyze the feature,outcome and the objective of teaching-workshops.

Abstract:Since the new century, architectural studies have been confronting by and addressing a set of new issues-namely environmental protection, inheritance of regional culture and rapid urbanization. As the major curriculum of architectural education, architectural design is also need to respond to the above challenges. This article discusses the adjustment and reform that architectural design course, in an age of transition, should be made in clarifying teaching purposes, setting up curriculum design project and training students’ design ability. And, at the end of the article, the teaching practice in the basic design courses at Tsinghua University in recent years is introduced.

Abstract:Today, when the concept of green and sustainable design has been deeply discussed in architecture, opinions vary on the extent to how the response to nature, ecology, and society integrates with architecture. In this issue, we specially invite Professor Wang Yuan from the School of Architecture and Urban Planning of Huazhong University of Science and Technology to have an in-depth conversation with Professor Song Yehao from the School of Architecture of Tsinghua University. Abstract:Interactive architecture is deemed as a real-time narrative medium, able to reconnect and renew the relationships between participants (users) and the surroundings to help the explore the irown motivations,inspirations decisions,and outcomes.The sensor based, human-computer (machine) integrated architecture can transform and uplift people’s daily life in entirely new ways, by strategically unlocking the potentials that technological innovations bring. This paper intends to provide a platform for further research and experimentation in the realm of interactive architecture, to encourage rethinking of the relationship between human desires and responsive space (physical or intangible) through a brief introduction to interactive architecture, and to explain the original interdisciplinary teaching methods utilized in the thesis project. By reviewing conceptual and practical cases and related theories, the readers can have a primary understanding of the particular subject and may also change their way of thinking and doing architecture. As interactive architecture is still in its beginning stage, many explorations and related methodologies need to be put in a theoretical framework. Therefore, the author of this paper strongly suggests formulating a comprehensive framework in order to guide the future generation of architects for sustainable urban development.

Abstract:Starting from the several public buildings disputed andthe recently opened Conference of National Engineering Academy withthe topic on public buildings the paper has discussed the relation be-tween the lack of architecture theory and several abnormalities comesforth in the architecture area. A point of view of "back to the basic" isbrought up again. Based on the two books translated newly by Profes-sor Wang Guixiang on Architecture Theory, the author has reviewedthe history of architecture theory of both China and world, explainedthe principles of Primary Categories and Secondary Categories, andbring forward that there are some connections between the proper pointsof view on architecture theory and the national development.
