Abstract:We discuss the explicit form of the 2N-mode squeezing operator via N-pair entangled state. We also present the squeezing properties of the 2N-mode squeezed state and obtain the variances of the 2N-mode quadrature operators in 2N-mode entangled state.

Abstract:We show that the best way to study the relationship between quantum entanglement and quantum squeezing for the multimode case is through constructing the new n-pair entangled state representation . The explicit form of the 2n-mode squeezing operator which squeezes the n-pair entangled state can be directly derived via the transition from to where M is an n × n complex matrix, and the technique of integration within an ordered product of operators. We also analyze the squeezing properties of the 2n-mode squeezed state for M being Hermitian, and obtain the variances of the 2n-mode quadrature operators in the 2n-mode squeezed vacuum state with a concise result; the condition for reaching the minimum of the uncertainty relationship is also investigated.

Abstract:It is known that exp[i lambda (Q(1)P(1) - i/2)] is a unitary single-mode squeezing operator, where Q(1), P-1 are the coordinate and momentum operators, respectively. In this paper we employ Dirac's coordinate representation to prove that the exponential operator S-n equivalent to exp [i lambda (n)Sigma(i=1) (Q(i)P(i+1) + Q(i+1)P(i)))], (Q(n+1) = Q(1), Pn+1 = P-1), is an n-mode squeezing operator which enhances the standard squeezing. By virtue of the technique of integration within an ordered product of operators we derive S-n's normally ordered expansion and obtain new n-mode squeezed vacuum states, its Wigner function is calculated by using the Weyl ordering invariance under similar transformations.

Abstract:Based on the neat < eta\ representation of the two-mode squeezing operator which entangles signal-mode and idlemode, where < eta\ is the common eigenvector of the relative position of two particles and the total momentum exhibiting a maximal entanglement between the two modes, we study some kind of squeezing mixing 1-3 modes and 2-4 modes for a pair of two-mode (1-2 modes and 3-4 modes) squeezed states. The explicit form of such mixed squeezed states is derived and the new entanglement is analysed.

Abstract:For two unequal-mass particles, we construct the entangled state representation and then derive the corresponding squeezing operator. This squeezing operator has a natural realization in the entangled state representation, which exhibits the intrinsic relation between squeezing and quantum entanglement. This squeezing operator involves both two-mode squeezing and the direct product of two single-mode squeezings. The maximum squeezing occurs when the two particles possess equal mass. When the two particles' mass difference becomes large, the component of the two single-mode squeezings becomes dominant.

Abstract:By constructing a generalized multi-partite entangled state representation and introducing the ket-bra integral in this representation, we find a new set of generalized bosonic realization of the generators of the SU(1, 1) algebra, which can compose a generalized multi-mode squeezing operator. This operator squeezes the multi-partite entangled state in a natural way. Then the corresponding multi-mode squeezed vacuum states |r > is obtained. Based on this, the variances of the n-mode quadratures and the higher-order squeezing in |r > are evaluated. In addition, we examine the violation of the Bell inequality for |r > by using the formalism of Wigner representation.

Abstract:We find that the coherent state projection operator representation of the two-mode squeezing operator constitutes a loyal group representation of symplectic group, which is a remarkable property of the coherent state. As a consequence, the resultant effect of successively applying two-mode squeezing operators are equivalent to a single squeezing in the two-mode Fock space. Generalization of this property to the 2n-mode case is also discussed.

Abstract:Based on two mutual conjugate tripartite entangled states |η, σ〉θ and |ζ, τ〉θ we generalize the two-mode one-sided squeezing operators to three-mode case. We derive how the tripartite entangled states transform under the three-mode squeezing operators. We conclude that the entangled state representations provide a convenient basis for deriving various three-mode squeezing operators.

Abstract:Based on the two-mode squeezing operator which is the quantum version of the symplectic transformation, we find that the corresponding squeezed two-mode number state is just a two-variable Hermite polynomial excited state, which possesses well-behaved features, e.g. its Wigner function is a direct product of two Laguerre polynomials; its Husimi function, a Gaussian broaden version of the Wigner function, is related to two-variable Hermite polynomials. Moreover, its quantum statistical features, such as squeezing properties and the inter-mode photon bunching, are discussed.

Abstract:The one- and two-mode combination squeezed states are constructed by applying the operator U identical to exp(-i lambda (erQ1P2+e-rQ2P1)) or W identical to exp(-i lambda (erQ1Q2-e-rP1P2)) (where lambda , r are real; Qi, Pi, i=1, 2 are coordinate and momentum operators, respectively) to the vacuum state. When the condition tanh lambda <1/(1+cosh r) is satisfied, such states can have less fluctuations in one quadrature phase than the usual two-mode squeezed state. Here, the authors examine the higher-order squeezing properties for such states. The result shows that under the same conditions, these states can exhibit a stronger form of higher-order squeezing than the usual two-mode squeezed state.

Abstract:By means of the entangled state representation as well as the Wigner operator in such a representation, the Wigner function of the two-mode squeezed number states is derived. The properties of corresponding Wigner function in the phase space are discussed by numerical calculation. The results indicate that Wigner function distribution in the phase space should be influenced by the correlation and the entanglement between two modes of two-mode squeezed number state. © 2011 Chinese Physical Society.

Abstract:We propose an efficient method for generating two-mode squeezed states of the collective excitation of two nitrogen-vacancy-center ensembles (NVEs), which are magnetically coupled to two interacting superconducting transmission line resonators via photon hopping, respectively. By applying the external driving fields to induce Raman transitions between the ground-state sublevels of the nitrogen-vacancy center, an effective interaction between the spin ensembles and the resonators can be engineered. We show that the dissipative quantum dynamical process of the two resonators can be employed to steer the two NVEs into a two-mode squeezed state. By comparison with previous proposals, our scheme does not need either an extra superconducting qubit, or external squeezing resource. The present work may have potential applications for implementing NVE-based hybrid quantum computation.
