Abstract:From the beginning of Qing Dynasty to the early years of the Republic of China,Shanxi exchange shops have always been the leader of China's finance industry,playing a major role in the development of social economy and trade.But due to the marketing myopia,the exchange shop managers neglected the market demand and changing situation and failed to meet the requirements of commodity economy.Had they transformed from cross-cities remittance and cashing to depositing and loaning business,and from the out-of-date system to the modern banking system,such exchange shops might have survived.
