Abstract:The Internet is believed to bring more technological dividends to vulnerable farmers during the green agriculture transformation. However, this is different from the theory of skill-biased technological change, which emphasizes that individuals with higher levels of human capital and more technological endowments benefit more. This study investigates the effects of Internet use on farmers' adoption of integrated pest management (IPM), theoretically and empirically, based on a dataset containing 1 015 farmers in China's Shandong Province. By exploring the perspective of rational inattention, the reasons for the heterogeneity of the effects across farmers with different endowments, i.e., education and land size, are analyzed. The potential endogeneity issues are addressed using the endogenous switching probit model. The results reveal that: (1) although Internet use significantly positively affects farmers' adoption of IPM, vulnerable farmers do not benefit more from it. Considerable selection bias leads to an overestimation of technological dividends for vulnerable farmers; (2) different sources of technology information lead to the difference in the degree of farmers' rational inattention toward Internet information, which plays a crucial role in the heterogeneous effect of Internet use; and (3) excessive dependence on strong-tie social network information sources entraps vulnerable farmers in information cocoons, hindering their ability to reap the benefits of Internet use fully. Therefore, it is essential to promote services geared towards elderly-oriented Internet agricultural technology information and encourage farmers with strong Internet utilization skills to share technology information with other farmers actively.

Abstract:Agricultural technology innovation has played an important role in the development of modern agriculture.Its contribution rate to progress of agricultural science and technology(S&T) has reached 56％.S&T has become the main driving force for China's agricultural development.But agricultural S&T still lacks a major breakthrough in core areas,and its overall level is not high,the transformation and promotion ability of these innovation results is obviously weak,and can not quide and support the development of modern agriculture.This paper evaluated the research papers in the fields of agricultural technology innovation and diffusion in China;analyzed the existing problems in previous research activities;pointed out that the institutional basis and social cultural background of agricultural technology innovation and diffusion should be paid more attention.Scholars could analyze the current difficulties and way out in the diffusion of agricultural technology innovation from the rural governance structure in the future.

Abstract:Encouraging farmers to adopt environmentally friendly technology through the rational use of social learning and agricultural technology extension is an effective way to overcome the bottleneck caused by the slow diffusion of environmentally friendly technology. Based on expanding the existing objects of research on farmers' technology adoption behavior, this paper examines the influence of social learning and agricultural technology extension on farmers' environmentally friendly technology adoption behavior from a dynamic perspective. In doing so, it enriches theoretical and empirical research on farmers' technology adoption behavior. Specifically, this paper takes fertigation technology as an example, constructs a dynamic analysis framework that is independent of the case study, and finds that social learning and agricultural technology extension, as the main channels for farmers to obtain technical information, can shorten the duration from awareness to the adoption of fertigation technology. Then, based on survey data, this paper uses the discrete-time cloglog model to conduct an empirical test. The empirical analysis supports the theoretical analysis results, and there is a complementary effect between social learning and traditional and new agricultural technology extension. Heterogeneity analysis shows that social learning and new agricultural technology extension have a greater marginal improvement effect on farmers' fertigation technology adoption behavior in the middle-aged to young group, middle and high education degree group and above median land scale group. This paper provides not only new empirical evidence to explain farmers' technology adoption behavior under the background of the internet revolution but also a decision-making reference for how to accelerate the construction of multivariate complementary, collaborative and efficient agricultural socialized service systems.

Abstract:Based on the operation analysis of popularization agencies for agricultural technology of Zhejiang province, this paper demonstrates the function of these agencies have been weakened in different degree. Except the popularization system, some other factors also impact the exertion of these agencies. The comparative "small section" tendency of agricultural development contributes to the neglected situation of agriculture and agriculture science and technology as well by local government; agriculture technical staff cannot adapt the change of agricultural structure; the decrease of the number of people employed in agricultural production makes the comparatively huge number of popularization staff for agriculture technology; at the same time, some non-governmental organizations have taken place of the governmental organizations in several respects. Due to these problems, the transformation of agricultural popularization must be carried out in the system level.

Abstract:Agricultural green production technology (AGPT) is essential for the sustainable development of agriculture, yet adoption rates among farmers are often low due to limited access to education and information. Based on the extended technology acceptance model, this study takes Liaoning, a major agricultural province in China, as a representative region to explore how digital multimedia influences the adoption of AGPT by farmers. The findings show that the perceived ease of use of these technologies significantly enhances farmers' intentions to adopt, while perceived risks detract from these intentions. Although digital multimedia effectively promotes AGPT by improving its perceived ease of use and usefulness, its role in mitigating perceived risks is minimal. Based on these results, we recommend that the government improve the quality of information on digital platforms by involving experts in the field and offer specific digital marketing training to potential users to increase the adoption of sustainable agricultural technologies.

The Role of Internet Development in China’s Grain Production: Specific Path and Dialectical Perspective

Abstract:With the development of the internet in China, information asymmetry in traditional agriculture production has been alleviated, and the information on modern agricultural technologies and production factor mobility has been widely disseminated, significantly impacting the country’s grain productivity and output. The pertinence and effectiveness of food security system arrangement can be ensured by revealing the influence of the internet on grain production. Based on the panel data of 30 provincial administrative regions in China from 1997 to 2018, a mediation model and a moderation model were used to evaluate the effect of internet development on grain output and constraints. The results showed that grain output could be promoted as internet penetration directly increases, and can also be boosted by enhancing technology usage and promoting operation scale expansion through the internet. However, the positive effect of this cycle could be inhibited by rural population aging, as there are many barriers faced by the elderly using information and communication technology (ICT). Strengthening agricultural technology utilization and promoting large-scale operation can encourage the development of rural internet, consequently improving the national food security guarantee capacity. It is equally important to simplify internet usage to alleviate the adverse impact of population aging on grain output. This study contributes to three sections of literature on (i) the factors influencing grain output, (ii) the mediating effects of the information transmission function of the internet, (iii) and the potential impact of aging in the information era. Exploring agricultural growth from an innovative perspective of the internet can provide a reference for ensuring food security and agricultural informatization.

By employing advanced algorithms like particle filtering and SO-CDKF, alongside multi-feature fusion technology, we significantly enhance the precision and responsiveness of these systems. Our findings show a 15% improvement in measurement accuracy and a 20% reduction in response times for intelligent applications, with further efficiency gains from optimizing the fusion process. This research underscores the potential of intelligent technologies to transform agriculture, offering vital insights for its future development.

Abstract:China’s sustainable development goals and carbon neutrality targets cannot be achieved without revolutionary transitions of the agricultural sector. The rapid development of digital technologies is believed to play a huge role in this revolution. The ongoing prevention and control of COVID-19 has greatly boosted the penetration of digital technology services in all areas of society, and sustainable transformation driven by digital technologies and services is rapidly becoming an area of innovation and research. Studies have shown that the rapid advancement of digitalization is also accompanied by a series of new governance challenges and problems: (1) unclear strategic orientation and inadequate policy and regulatory responses; (2) various stakeholders have not formed a sustainable community of interest; (3) information explosion is accompanied by information fragmentation and digital divide between countries and populations within countries. Meanwhile, current research has focused more on the role of digital services in urban governance and industrial development and lacks systematic research on its role in sustainable agricultural and rural development. To address the realities faced by different stakeholders in the process of digital transformation of agriculture, this paper aims to propose an inclusive analytical framework based on the meta-governance theory to identify and analyze the demand, supply, actor networks, and incentives in the digital technology-and-services-driven sustainable agricultural transformation, starting from the goals and connotations of sustainable agricultural and rural transformation and the interactions among different stakeholders in governing information flows. This analytical framework is further applied to analyze the cases of China and the EU. Although China and the EU represent different development phases and policy contexts, the framework is valid for capturing the characteristics of information flows and actor networks along the flows. It is concluded that a common information platform based on the stakeholder network would benefit all stakeholders, help reach common framing of issues, and maintain a dynamic exchange of information. Depending on the country context, different types of stakeholders may play different roles in creating, supervising, and maintaining such platforms. Digital infrastructures/products as hardware and farmers digital capacity as ‘software’ are the two wings for digital sustainable transformation. Innovative incentives from different countries may inspire each other. In any case, farmers’ actual farming behavior changes should be an important criterion for evaluating the effects and effectiveness of digital transition governance.

Abstract:Historical experience shows that the people’s happiness index is highly correlated with the development of agriculture. The prosperity of agriculture and industrial production has also brought most people into a well-off life. Since the innovation of agricultural production equipment and concepts, the efficiency of agricultural production in my country has also been greatly improved compared to before the reform and opening up. In the era when robots will gradually become mainstream work machinery tools, the production efficiency and supply of agricultural products will become the focus of attention of the people of all countries. In such a general environment, the competition between agricultural products markets is no longer solely based on the competitiveness of agricultural products but also depends on the advantages of the agricultural supply chain to win. This article analyzes the construction of the sustainable operation mechanism of the agricultural supply chain in the context of wireless communication and the Internet of Things. First, the method of literature research is used to explain the characteristics of the agricultural supply chain and the problems existing in the development of the current agricultural supply chain model in the context of wireless communication and the Internet of Things. Next, study the current situation of the sustainability mechanism of the agricultural supply chain, and finally optimize the construction of the sustainability mechanism of the agricultural supply chain products based on the research results. According to the survey results, the main problem with the current mechanism of the agricultural product supply chain at this stage is that the logistics information technology is difficult to update in time, accounting for about 44%, followed by the lack of effective monitoring methods, accounting for about 34%.

Abstract:China is characterized as ‘a large country with many smallholder farmers’ whose participation in modern agriculture is key to the country's modern agriculture development. Promoting smallholder farmers’ adoption of modern agricultural production technology is one effective way to improve the capabilities of smallholder farmers. This paper aims to explore the impact of Internet use on the adoption of agricultural production technology by smallholder farmers based on a survey of 1 449 smallholders across 14 provinces in China. The results suggest that Internet use can significantly promote technology adoption, with the probability of adopting new crop varieties, water-saving irrigation technology and straw-returning technology increasing by 0.200, 0.157 and 0.155, respectively. Furthermore, the effect of Internet use is found to be heterogeneous with a greater effect on smallholder farmers having low education levels, limited training, and high incomes. To increase agricultural production technology adoption by smallholders, rural Internet infrastructure and Internet use promotion should be the focus for the Chinese government.

Abstract:The advent of Internet of Things (IoT) spurred a new direction of research in agriculture, and various IoT communication technologies are used to connect with different devices in different layers. With the rapid increasing number of studies and projects about IoT-based smart agriculture, information got scattered and the involved communication technologies were not been analyzed and discussed before in other reviews. Intending to identify and review scientifically validated literature on IoT communication technologies in smart agriculture, this study critically summarizes the recent research pertinent to the smart agriculture with IoT communication technologies. The employed method was a thorough search from these three databases, namely: ScienceDirect, IEEE Xplore, and Scopus. Total 94 research articles were reviewed after the total of 886 titles being scanned for relevance. The monitored parameters by sensors and communication technologies associated with IoT-based smart agriculture applications are analyzed comprehensively, as well as some specific issues, challenges, and recommendations in IoT applications in agriculture. The study provides reference for researchers, and more burgeoning communication technologies should be applied in agriculture to realize the great-leap forward development in smart agriculture.
