Abstract:First this paper shows that X is strongly hereditarily mesocompact space iff each scattered partition of its open subspaces has a compact finite open expansion in X.Then,a necessary and sufficient condition of strongly hereditarily mesocompact spaces is proved,and a group of characterizations is obtained.Finally,a Tychonoff product theorem is proved on strongly hereditarily mesocompact spaces.

Abstract:Let (X, tau(1)) and (Y, tau(2)) be two Hausdorff locally convex spaces with continuous duals X, and Y', respectively, L (X, Y) be the space of all continuous linear operators from X into Y, K (X, Y) be the space of all compact operators of L (X, Y). Let WOT and UOT be the weak operator topology and uniform operator topology on K (X, Y), respectively. In this paper, we characterize a full-invariant property of K (X, Y); that is, if the sequence space X has the signed-weak gliding hump property, then each; lambda-multiplier WOT-convergent series Sigma(i) T-i in K(X, Y) must be X-multiplier convergent with respect to all topologies between WOT and UOT if and only if each continuous linear operator T: (X, tau(1)) --> or (lambda(beta), sigma(lambda(beta),lambda)) is compact. Abstract:We show several characterizations of weakly compact sets in Banach spaces. Given a bounded closed convex set C of a Banach space X, the following statements are equivalent: (i) C is weakly compact; (ii) C can be affinely uniformly embedded into a reflexive Banach space; (iii) there exists an equivalent norm on X which has the w2R-property on C; (iv) there is a continuous and w*-lower semicontinuous seminorm p on the dual X* with p >= sup(C) such that p(2) is everywhere Frechet differentiable in X*; and as a consequence, the space X is a weakly compactly generated space if and only if there exists a continuous and w*-l.s.c. Frechet smooth (not necessarily equivalent) norm on X*.
On Super Weak Compactness of Subsets and its Equivalences in Banach Spaces

Abstract:Analogous to weak compactness of subsets of Banach spaces and to property of subsets in super reflexive spaces, the purpose of this paper is to discuss super weak compactness of both convex and nonconvex subsets in Banach spaces. As a result, we give three characterizations of super weakly compact sets: The first one is Grothendiek's type theorem; the second one is James' type characterization and the last one is super Banach-Saks property. We also show that super weak compactness, finite index property and finite dual index property of a closed convex set are actually equivalent. Therefore, eleven notions and properties eventually coincide for a closed bounded convex set. We also present some characterizations of uniformly weakly null sequences. These are done by localizing some basic properties of ultrapowers and using some geometric procedures of Banach spaces.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider two types of weak norms, the weak mixed-norm and the iterated weak norm, in Lebesgue spaces with mixed norms. We study properties of two weak norms and present their relationship. Even for the ordinary Lebesgue spaces, the two weak norms are not equivalent and any one of them can not control the other one. We give some convergence and completeness results for the two weak norms, respectively. We study the convergence in the truncated norm, which is a substitution of the convergence in measure for mixed-norm Lebesgue spaces. And we give a characterization of the convergence in the truncated norm. We show that Hölder’s inequality is not always true on weak mixed-norm Lebesgue spaces and we give a complete characterization of indices which admit Hölder’s inequality. As applications, we establish some geometric inequalities related to fractional integrals in weak mixed-norm spaces and in iterated weak spaces, respectively, which essentially generalize the Hardy–Littlewood–Sobolev inequality.

Abstract:A product of compact normal spaces is normal; the product of a countably infinite collection of non-trivial spaces is normal if and only if it is countably paracompact and each of its finite sub-products is normal; if all powers of a space X are normal then X is compact: provided in each case that the spaces involved are T1. Here I examine the situation for infinite products not required to be T1 (or regular), extending or generalizing each of these facts. In addition, I prove some related results, give a number of examples, explore some alternative proofs, and close with some speculation regarding potential applications of these findings to category theory and lattice theory.

Abstract:We show that if X is a Tychonoff metacompact weakly pseudocompact countably sieve-complete space then X is Čech-complete. A metric space X is Čech-complete if and only if X is Telgársky complete. Then it follows that an Oxtoby complete metric space is not necessarily Telgársky complete. This answers Question 11.1 in [8] . We give an internal characterization of subgroups of products of first-countable semitopological groups which are paracompact σ -spaces. We also discuss some properties of regular ω -balanced, locally ω -good semitopological groups with a q -point, property (w⁎) and Sm(G)≤ω . We finally give a sufficient condition under which a semitopological group is topologically isomorphic to a subgroup of a product of first-countable M1 -semitopological groups.

Boundedness of Some Paraproducts on Spaces of Homogeneous Type

Abstract:Let (X,d,μ) be a space of homogeneous type in the sense of Coifman and Weiss. In this article, the author develops a partial theory of paraproducts {Πj}j=13 defined via approximations of the identity with exponential decay (and integration 1), which are extensions of paraproducts defined via regular wavelets. Precisely, the author first obtains the boundedness of Π3 on Hardy spaces and then, via the methods of interpolation and the well-known T(1) theorem, establishes the endpoint estimates for {Πj}j=13. The main novelty of this paper is the application of the Abel summation formula to the establishment of some relations among the boundedness of {Πj}j=13, which has independent interests. It is also remarked that, throughout this article, μ is not assumed to satisfy the reverse doubling condition.

Abstract:All spaces are assumed to be Tychonoff. Given a realcompact space X, we denote by the smallest infinite cardinal such that X is homeomorphic to a closed subspace of . Our main result shows that, given a cardinal , the following conditions are equivalent: • There exists a countable crowded space X such that . • . In fact, in the case , every countable dense subspace of provides such an example. This will follow from our analysis of the pseudocharacter of countable subsets of products of first-countable spaces. Finally, we show that a scattered space of weight has pseudocharacter at most in any compactification. This will allow us to calculate for an arbitrary (that is, not necessarily crowded) countable space X.

On the product of Weak Asplund locally convex spaces

Abstract:For locally convex spaces, we systematize several known equivalent definitions of Fréchet (G\^ ateaux) Differentiability Spaces and Asplund (Weak Asplund) Spaces. As an application, we extend the classical Mazur's theorem as follows: Let $E$ be a separable Baire locally convex space and let $Y$ be the product $\prod_{\alpha\in A} E_{\alpha}$ of any family of separable Fréchet spaces; then the product $E \times Y$ is Weak Asplund. Also, we prove that the product $Y$ of any family of Banach spaces $(E_{\alpha})$ is an Asplund locally convex space if and only if each $E_{\alpha}$ is Asplund. Analogues of both results are valid under the same assumptions, if $Y$ is the $\Sigma$-product of any family $(E_{\alpha})$.

Abstract:This paper is devoted to studying the representation of measures of non-generalized compactness, in particular, measures of noncompactness, of non-weak compactness and of non-super weak compactness, etc., defined on Banach spaces and its applications. With the aid of a three-time order-preserving embedding theorem, we show that for every Banach space X, there exist a Banach function space C(K) for some compact Hausdorif space K and an order-preserving affine mapping T from the super space B of all the nonempty bounded subsets of X endowed with the Hausdorff metric to the positive cone C(K)(+) of C(K) such that for every convex measure, in particular, the regular measure, homogeneous measure and sublinear measure of non-generalized compactness mu on X, there is a convex function F on the cone V = T(B) which is Lipschitzian on each bounded set of V such that F(T(B)) = mu(B), for all B is an element of B. As its applications, we show a class of basic integral inequalities related to an initial value problem in Banach spaces, and prove a solvability result of the initial value problem, which is an extension of some classical results due to BanaA and Goebel (1980), Goebel and Rzymowski (1970) and Rzymowski (1971).

Abstract:In this paper, we first present a brief review for the study of super weakly compact sets of Banach spaces. Then we show a representation theorem of the dual of the ultraproduct space (X-i) (U) for a family ( X-i) (i is an element of Omega) of Banach spaces X (i) and a free ultrafilter U on Omega. As its applications, we show that for any family of subsets A i - Xi, i is an element of Omega, we have co(-) (A(i)) U - = (coA(i))U. Consequently, we give two basic questions related to topologies of subsets in Banach spaces affirmative answers: The closed convex hull of a relative super weakly compact subset of a Banach space is again super weakly compact; and every super weakly compact set is a uniformly Eberlein-compact set.
