Abstract:With the development of science and technology,the scope of future war expands into outer space gradually.The space-based anti-satellite kinetic missile with the advantages of high accuracy,strong anti-interference,good mobility,light weight and small size,becomes one of the most important space weapons.It is a new concept weapon that launches from satellites or other spacecrafts,hits enemy satellite directly with high relative velocity,and destroys it by large kinetic energy.It can be considered as an extension of ammunition technologies on the space-based platform.By tracking the development of this kind of missile abroad,its system composition and principle are studied,and related key technologies,including launch and separation,space autonomous navigation,target detection and identification,accurate terminal guidance,etc.,are presented and analyzed.Some research foundation is established for following study on the anti-satellite kinetic missile.

Abstract:In recent years, the science of hyperspectral remote sensing has huge development in virtue of the integration of low-cost lightweight hyperspectral sensors and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). As an alternative of manned aircraft, UAV has some unique advantages enabling the researchers acquire the hyperspectral images of their interest area flexibly and promptly. This review focuses on the recent developments of UAV borne hyperspectral remote sensing system, and gives an overview of the corresponding platforms, sensors, data acquisition, processing and current applications. Future challenges and research directions for UAV borne hyperspectral data are also addressed.

Abstract:The characteristics of near space hypersonic vehicles have brought about new difculty in modeling and control. Firstly, this paper analyzes some characteristics of hypersonic vehicles, and then puts forward the unified model in the large envelope flight. Secondly, an overview of current control studies on the cruising phase and the reentry phase is presented, where the problems of flexibility, non-minimum phase, integrated design of reentry guidance and control are emphasized. Finally, with the development of hypersonic vehicles, the interception issue of hypersonic targets is discussed,which provides the potentiality for future research.

Abstract:Air-breathing vehicles, a crucial field of the aerospace industry in recent years, are required to have exceptional flight performance in a wide range. As a practical and essential way to realize efficient flight, the integration design emerges as a prominent characteristic of air-breathing vehicles. This article reviews and analyzes the design connotation, critical progress, and technical attributes of high-speed air-breathing integration vehicles, including supersonic aerodynamics/propulsion integration, hypersonic cruise-type airframe/engine integration, and wide-range aircraft/engine integration. In the supersonic aerodynamics/propulsion integrated design phase, creating a vehicle with excellent maneuverability and stealth performance has become the design focus. While in the hypersonic cruise-type airframe/engine integrated design phase, designers proposed various rotational symmetrical slender body and lifting-body configurations to match the scramjet engines. This provided strong support for breaking through thrust-drag matching in hypersonic cruise. For wide-range aircraft/engine integration vehicles, a more complex service environment imposes higher requirements on their levels of integration. The progression from supersonic aerodynamics/propulsion integration to hypersonic cruise-type airframe/engine integration, and further to wide-range aircraft/engine integration, signifies the exploration of air-breathing aircraft towards wider speed range and broader airspace. Finally, a detailed analysis of the distinctions among these three types of integrated vehicles is presented, and the development proposals and trends of wide-range aircraft/engine integration vehicles are discussed.

Abstract:Personal aerial vehicles, an innovative transport mode to bridge the niche between scheduled airliners and ground transport, are seen by aviation researchers and engineers as a solution to provide fast urban on-demand mobility. This paper reviews recent research efforts on the personal aerial vehicle (PAV), with a focus on the US and Europe led research activities. As an extension of the programmatic level overview, several enabling technologies, such as vertical/short take-off and landing (V/STOL), automation, distributed electric propulsion, which might promote the deployment of PAVs, are introduced and discussed. Despite the dramatic innovation in PAV concept development and related technologies, some challenging issues remain, especially safety, infrastructure and public acceptance. As such, further efforts by many stakeholders are required to enable the real implementation and application of PAVs.

Abstract:According to the airworthiness technology of civil aero-engine, the historical evolution of airworthiness regulation, FAR 33, is investigated. And the general rules are obtained which include developing form, influencing factors of development, and changing trend. Furthermore, the analysis of airworthiness verification technology will be presented in the four aspects which are use, working environment, structure, and system. Plus, the critical points of airworthiness certification and management are discussed. Based on the analysis above, the opportunity and challenge the airworthiness certification work face in the next period are finally prospected, to provide a reference for the related research in the aviation industry.

Abstract:Due to the rising concept of advanced air mobility (AAM), electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft has become the hotspot for academic research and commercial application. This paper provides a comprehensive review of latest researches related to autonomous eVTOL. It examines key technologies involved in autonomous eVTOL, including automated flight control, sensing & perception, safety & reliability, and decision making. It also addresses the technical, regulatory, and societal challenges associated with the wholesale adoption of autonomous eVTOL into AAM. The paper concludes with a discussion of future trends and recommendations, including the importance of integration with air traffic management, urban infrastructure and human–machine interaction. It aims to be a useful resource for those involved in the research, policy, and industry of autonomous eVTOL technology.

Abstract:Present paper introduces the recent advances in space launch vehicle technologies. A brief survey is given for the space development programs in civil sector with their business model and key technologies. Advances in key technologies were reviewed in detail with more emphasis on the electric pump cycle engine for low cost high performance small launch vehicle, Electron, under development by Rocketlab Ltd., since their contributions would give good lessons for rocket scientists.

Abstract:The space environment has become highly congested due to the increasing space debris, seriously threatening the safety of orbiting spacecraft. Space-based situational awareness, as a comprehensive capability of threat knowledge, analysis, and decision-making, is of significant importance to ensure space security and maintain normal order. Various space situational awareness systems have been designed and launched. Data acquisition, target recognition, and monitoring constituting key technologies make major contributions, and various advanced algorithms are explored as technical supports. However, comprehensive reviews of these technologies and specific algorithms rarely emerge. It disadvantages the future development of space situational awareness. Therefore, this paper further reviews and analyzes research advancements in key technologies for space situational awareness, emphasizing target recognition and monitoring. Many mature and emerging methods are presented for these technologies while discussing application advantages and limitations. Specially, the research prospects of multiagent and synergetic constellation technologies are expected for future situational awareness. This paper indicates the future directions of the key technologies, aiming to provide references for space-based situational awareness to realize space sustainability.

Abstract:With the rapid expansion in the number of Unmanned Aircraft Vehicles (UAVs) available and the development of modern technologies, the commercial applications of UAVs in urban areas, such as urban remote sensing (RS), express services, urban road traffic monitoring, urban police security, urban air shows and so on, have increased greatly. However, most UAVs, especially light and small civil UAVs, have been operating in low-altitude airspace, and a conflict may exist between increasing the number of UAVs and the limited low airspace. To promote low-altitude airspace resource development and to standardize the operation and management of UAVs in urban regions, some global laws and regulations and key technologies for urban low-altitude applications of UAVs have been implemented. This paper reviews the development of current policies and key technologies concerning safe and efficient operations of the light-and-small civil UAVs in low altitude in urban areas. Discussions are made progressively on measures and methods of airspace restriction, airspace structuring and air route planning in China primarily and the rest of world. After surveying the practical industry tests and the initial studies of air routes, the survey results indicate that the construction of air route networks is a scientific and effective measure to standardize and improve the efficiency of low-altitude UAV operations. From the view point of safety and efficiency, the most valuable direction for UAV regulation in urban regions involves deepening the research which largely relies on urban RS and Geographic Information System (GIS) technology, and application demonstrations of low-altitude public air route networks.

Abstract:In recent years, driven by space X and other commercial companies, the requirement of low cost and fast response to transport, reusable launch vehicle technology is attracting the world's attention. Aerospace agencies in various countries have stepped up research and made some progress in the related technologies of reusable launch vehicles. The development of reusable launch vehicle has become an important direction of space development in the future. First, the development status of reusable vehicles, the Space Shuttle Mode, the Falcon-9 Mode, the Launch Mode on board, and the Airborne Aircraft Mode, are introduced. Second, the structure design, the propulsion system, the recycling scheme, the thermal protection system and the launch costs of each mode is analyzed. Third, some related development suggestions are put forward in terms of the carrier configuration, the design of recycling scheme, the choose of propulsion system and the thermal protection system for reusable launch vehicle designer.

Abstract:The main features and key problems in the development of air-breathing electric propulsion (ABEP) are outlined. Qualitative differences between ABEP and its closest predecessor, electric propulsion (EP), are highlighted. The necessary conditions for the long-term maintenance of spacecraft with ABEP in ultra-low (120–250 km) orbits (ULEO) are formulated. EP technologies, which have the best prospects for application in future ABEP, are shown. Estimates of the feasibility of long-term missions in ULEO are presented, including those based on the integrated optimization of the layout of spacecraft with ABEP and solar arrays. The main results of investigations of spacecraft maneuverability are described. The review uses the results of studies published mainly in recent years. At the same time, some historical facts of first practical steps in EP- and ABEP-technology development, which remained out of the attention of a wide audience due to different reasons, are described. The authors felt free of giving their own assessment of a number of the results presented in key areas of the research.

Abstract:This paper introduces the basic concepts of UAV track planning, the relationship between track planning and algorithms, and focuses on the analysis and induction of several commonly used algorithms at home and abroad in recent years. The advantages and disadvantages of current path planning algorithms in different application scenarios are summarized. Finally, the future development trend of UAV path planning algorithm is prospected, and it is pointed out that real-time online path planning algorithm research, multi-UAV swarm planning algorithm, perfect path planning problem model and algorithm hybrid optimization are the next research trends.

Abstract:Space robotic systems are expected to play an increasingly important role in future space activities. Nevertheless, dynamics modeling and motion planning of a space robot are much more complex than those of a fixed-base robot, due to the dynamic coupling between the manipulator and its base. On the other hand, in order to assure the success of on-orbital missions, many experiments are required to verify the key algorithms on the ground before the space robot is launched. In this paper, the main research achievements on dynamics modeling, path planning, and ground verification are reviewed, and future studies are recommended. Firstly, we summarize the essential modeling concepts, and deduce the kinematics and dynamics equations of a space robot. Secondly, the main motion planning approaches are discussed. Then, different ground verification systems, including the air-bearing table, neutral buoyancy, airplane flying, free-falling motion, suspension system, and hybrid system, are introduced. Finally, the future research trends are forecasted.

Abstract:In recent years, research and development in aerial robotics (i.e., unmanned aerial vehicles, UAVs) has been growing at an unprecedented speed, and there is a need to summarize the background, latest developments, and trends of UAV research. Along with a general overview on the definition, types, categories, and topics of UAV, this work describes a systematic way to identify 1,318 high-quality UAV papers from more than thirty thousand that have been appeared in the top journals and conferences. On top of that, we provide a bird's-eye view of UAV research since 2001 by summarizing various statistical information, such as the year, type, and topic distribution of the UAV papers. We make our survey list public and believe that the list can not only help researchers identify, study, and compare their work, but is also useful for understanding research trends in the field. From our survey results, we find there are many types of UAV, and to the best of our knowledge, no literature has attempted to summarize all types in one place. With our survey list, we explain the types within our survey and outline the recent progress of each. We believe this summary can enhance readers' understanding on the UAVs and inspire researchers to propose new methods and new applications.

Abstract:Flying cars—as a new type of vehicle for urban air mobility (UAM)—have become an important development trend for the transborder integration of automotive and aeronautical technologies and industries. This article introduces the 100-year history of flying cars, examines the current research status for UAM air buses and air taxis, and discusses the future development trend of intelligent transportation and air-to-land amphibious vehicles. Unsettled Topics Concerning Flying Cars for Urban Air Mobility identifies the major bottlenecks and impediments confronting the development of flying cars, such as high power density electric propulsion, high lift-to-drag ratio and lightweight body structures, and low-altitude intelligent flight. Furthermore, it proposes three phased goals and visions for the development of flying cars in China, suggesting the development of a flying vehicle technology innovation system that integrates automotive and aeronautic industries.
