Abstract:By reviewing bullwhip effect and demand oscillation existing in the Supply Chain Management(SCM),the coordinate issue between inventory cost and Customer Demand Satisfactory(CDS) is discussed.Then,by introducing the Model Predictive Control(MPC) strategy,and the translation of some concepts in process industrial control into the SCM fields,the optimization of supply chain network is successfully realized.Further more,a one-product,three-echelon demand network is modeled and simulated later to analyze its performance in the presence of significant uncertainty,forecast error,and constraints of inventory levels.The result successfully mitigates the bullwhip effect in the supply chain while reducing safety stocks to profitable levels and improving customer demand satisfaction.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE:To provide reference further development of hospital pharmacy in China. METHODS:Innovative pharmaceutical care method of hospital pharmacy was summarized in 32 medical institutions from Zhejiang area,including 18 third-level hospitals,8 special hospitals,6 third-level TCM hospitals and integrated traditional and western medicine hospitals. RE-SULTS & CONCLUSIONS:Medical institutions provide innovative pharmaceutical service to guarantee the safety of drug use,ex-pand medical service space,enrich the connotation of pharmaceutical care,and provide reference for pharmaceutical care in medi-cal institutions of other regions,such as establishing satellite pharmacy of anesthesiology department,opening outpatient depart-ment of pharmaceutical care (elderly comprehensive evaluation and multidisciplinary outpatient pharmaceutical care,anticoagula-tion consultation outpatient department and endocrine consultation outpatient department managed by pharmacists,comprehensive pharmacy consultation outpatient department,outpatient pharmaceutical care of pharmacy unit mode),formulating pharmaceutical ward round mode under multidisciplinary cooperation,developing clinical pharmaceutical care based on pharmacy scientific re-search(drug monitor,gene detection)and evidence-based medicine.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE: To provide reference for controlling risk factors of drug supply chain as much as possible, and to guarantee the effectiveness and safety of drug therapy. METHODS: Risk management plan was designed, i.e. identifying the risk event links and range of hospital drugs supply chain, analyzing and evaluating the possibility, impact and controllability of the wide range of 10 risk events, making intervention measures. RESULTS CONCLUSIONS: Risk events usually happen in links of purchase, storage, distribution, application and high risk drug management. The possibilities of wide range of 10 risk events are different and their impacts are in medium level or above. The controllability degrees of them are common to strong. Risk management gives priority to purchase and distribution, following by storage. Risk can be controlled effectively by establishing responsibility matrix, strengthening communication and coordination, enhancing software and hardware construction, emphasizing human resource management, etc.

Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of PDCA circulation method on improving the quality of drug shortage management in hospital drug storeroom. Methods The drug storeroomwhich did not adopt PDCA circulation method fromSeptember to December 2016 were selected as control group, and those which were managed by PDCA circulation fromJanuary to April 2017 were selected as observation group. The comprehensive score of drug suppliers under two different management modes were observed, including the frequency of drug shortage, duration of drug shortage, frequency of zero distribution and rate of zero distribution. The pharmacy awareness and clinical satisfaction with drug supply after drug shortage were compared between the two groups. Results The comprehensive score of drug suppliers in observation group was higher than that in control group, and the difference was statistically significant (t =17. 38, P ＜ 0. 05). After the PDCA circulation, the frequency of drug shortage, the frequency of zero distribution and the rate of zero distribution were significantly decreased (P ＜ 0. 05); the duration of drug shortage was shortened, but the difference was not statistically significant (P = 1. 06). The awareness rate of the drug shortage in pharmacy and the clinical satisfaction with the drug supply were obviously improved. Conclusion PDCA circulation method can effectively improve the quality of drug shortage management in hospital drug storeroom, reduce the shortage of drug supply and improve clinical satisfaction with drug supply.

Abstract:Objective. To explore the practice of comprehensive pharmacy management mode under the strategy of healthy China. Methods. Combining with hospital practice, the advantages and disadvantages of comprehensive pharmacy management mode were discussed and considered. Results. The comprehensive pharmacy has advantages in improving work efficiency, optimizing resource allocation, refining pharmacy management, checking the compatibility of Chinese and Western medicines, and improving service quality, and it also increases the labor intensity of staff and is prone to prescription dispensing errors. Conclusion. Hospitals with mature conditions and permission can use the management mode of comprehensive pharmacy.

Practice and Experience of Informatization Management of Logistics in Our Hospital Drug Storehouse

Abstract:OBJECTIVE: To facilitate the informatization process of logistics of hospital drugs. METHODS: A supply chain-based informatization management was created and put into practice to replace the traditional logistic model of drugs in hospital drug storehouse. RESULTS: The informatization management greatly reduced the labor intensity of the drug store-house, up 73% in check & acceptance efficiency and up 47% in invoice entry efficiency. CONCLUSION: The new method that informatization management of logistics help improve the work efficiency of drug storehouse and reduce administration cost, which thus is worthy of popularization in the management of hospital drug storehouses.

Abstract:Service-based business competition in hospitals can be achieved through cost leadership strategies without putting aside patient safety, differentiation strategies aims to differentiate themselves uniquely from competitors and focus strategies by targeting specific markets. The strategy series are 50% more influenced by the performance of Supply Chain Management at Pharmacy Installation. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the implementation of strategy and performance with the research subjects of the Hospital Type D Pharmacy Installation. The method of weighting the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) was used to analyse the priority of strategy and performance assessment processed using the Objective Matrix (OMAX) method. The Supply Chain Operation Reference (SCOR) model is applied as a Key Performance indicator (KPI) with financial ratio data as a support for internal performance. The position of subject in competition and performance improvement benchmarks is seen through benchmarking with competitor of type C Hospital. Results of analysis show that the priority cost leadership strategy is supported by the AHP weighting cost of good sold 34.4% but the best performance is obtained from the order fulfillment cycle time 26.51%. Performance evaluation should be used by targets approaching competitor levels. The conclusion of this study, Hospital competing strategies can be obtained through synchronization of Supply Chain Management strategies and actual performance of Pharmacy Installation
Optimization of Hospital Inventory Management of Expensive Drugs

Abstract:OBJECTIVE:To scientifically establish the variety scope of expensive drugs and to reduce the stock level to a maximum degree under the premise of supply security.METHODS:The variety scope of expensive drugs was established by modified ABC(activity-based costing)analytical method,and the management on expensive drugs was carried out by fixedquantity system(FQS)together with fixed-interval system(FIS).RESULTS:The practice of the optimized management effectively reduced the stock quantity of expensive drugs,increased the amount of money of 75 stocked drugs to 2.473 7 million yuan from 3.935 7 million yuan;the turnover rate rose from 238.36%to 461.86%,and the turnover days were decreased from 13.03 days to 8.29 days.CONCLUSION:Computer management in combination with the modified ABC analytical method together with FQS and FIS management led to an effective and accurate inventory management of expensive drugs,which then resulted in a speedy turnover rate,decreased fund occupying and lowered drug cost.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE:To improve the drug turnover rate and the work efficiency of drug storehouse,and to reduce the cost of drug storage. METHODS:Based on ABC dynamic classification,original drug procurement management module in HIS was im-proved. Scientific,accurate and reasonable drug procurement plan was generated by the system automatically through setting pro-curement proportion coefficient. Drug procurement by type was achieved through adding classification scanning function,based on distribution mode and drug property classification. Related index were compared before and after improvement to evaluate the ef-fects of the improvement. RESULTS:Compared with before improvement,average monthly inventory amount of drugs in our hos-pital reduced by 6.44%,turnover rate increased by 47.13%(increasing from 4.18% to 6.15%),and the time for developing pro-curement plan decreased by 75.00%(decreasing from 8 h to 2 h). CONCLUSIONS:The improvement of drug procurement man-agement module effectively reduce drug inventory and improve turnover rate of drugs and work efficiency.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE To evaluate the feasibility and influence of the lean logistics management mode on the capital flow in the pharmaceutical supply of our hospital,and analyze the application of the lean logistics in saving the indirect cost in hospital logistics management.METHODS The information dates of drug supplies of class A,B,C drugs were selected from March 2013 to February 2014 (traditional drug supply mode) and from March 2014 to February 2015 (lean drug supply mode)in our hospital.The differences of turnover efficiency,staffing,labor costs and the investment time of pharmacists in pharmacy work were compared between the two groups,and the indexes were analyzed and evaluated.The measurement data of two groups were compared by t test,P＜0.05 as the significance level RESULTS During the same period,compared with class A,B,C drugs in the traditional drug supply model and lean drug supply model,the difference of the monthly turnover rate of drugs was statistically significant (P＜0.05).Under traditional drug supply mode,5 workers were allocated for pharmacy,3 for drug testing,3 for drug delivery.While under lean supply mode,3 workers were allocated for pharmacy.About 400 square metres of original drug warehouse were transferred into clinical region,which saved economic cost of the hospital.The pharmacists spent more time in the drug prescription,doctor's advice and drug maintenance than that of traditional drug supply mode.CONCLUSION The lean logistics mode can effectively improve the storage capacity,drug turnover rate and pharmacists working efficiency for the drug supply group.

Abstract:By far, the researches on how to distribute blood products among different departments in hospital have not been further studied, though the problem of blood shortage and wastage that caused by improper blood allocation is severe, which may endanger patient’s lives and impose considerable costs on hospitals. In order to solve this problem, this paper mainly studies on how to distribute the blood items among different departments within a hospital and investigates the allocation approach with the novel management method by centralizing the inventory of several different departments. By integrating the blood inventory requirements of some departments, the hospital could reduce the rate of blood shortage and wastage effectively, release the pressure of the occupancy of resources and reduce the bullwhip effect of blood products. This paper illustrates the centralization principle in hospital and formulates the mixed integer programming model to work out the optimal allocation network scheme and the optimal inventory setting for every department. And the results of the numerical example demonstrate that this centralization method could considerably reduce blood shortage and wastage in hospital by about 72% and 90% respectively. Furthermore, it could decrease the total cost by about 108,540 RMB a month on blood supply chain management in the hospital and improve the effect of some certain surgeries by transfusing the fresh blood to patients.

Abstract:Objective To improve the quality of the narcotic and typeⅠpsychotropic drugs in hospital.Methods According to the provision of laws and regulations,in combination with the practical situation of the hospital,the quality standard had been establised,the dispensing process,base management,batch tracking,prescription number,safety control were conduct standardly.The quality inspection was carried out normally.Results The work of the narcotic and typeⅠ psychotropic drugs had been running smoothly,orderly and safely.The problem is reducing gradually.Conclusions The quality of the narcotic and typeⅠ psychotropic drugs had been improved and the security risks were eliminated through standardized management in the central pharmacy of the hospital.

Abstract:Background: A good drug inventory planning system is important for an efficient budgeting, procurement, and cost control of drugs. When stagnant drugs in the inventory are too much, wastage due to expired and spoiled drugs could occur. These will not only cause loss of income but could also jeopardize healthcare service delivery. Research design and methods: This study aimed to determine the most efficient and effective management of stagnant and shortage drugs by comparing three pharmacy logistic methods; the economic order quantity (EOQ), minimum-maximum stock level (MMSL), and the traditional consumption of drug inventory, at RA Basoeni Hospital, Mojokerto. Drug inventory was analyzed to calculate the opportunity loss, opportunity cost, and proportions of both stagnant and shortage drugs. Results: We found that EOQ and MMSL performed best for control of stagnant drugs and shortage drugs, respectively. Both methods had proved as effective pharmacy logistic planning. In addition, EOQ produced the lowest opportunity cost for stagnant drugs besides the lowest opportunity loss for shortage drugs. Conclusion: The study concluded that EOQ is the most effective and efficient method to manage stagnant and shortage drugs at hospital pharmacy.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE:To introduce electronic drug logistics(ePS)in our hospital,and to provide reference for enhancement of staff performance management.METHODS:The hospital ePS were introduced in respects of management,tracing,avoiding error,mobile pharmacists.Bar code scanning technology was used to identify drugs dispensed and the accuracy,and the staff performance management was recorded accurately.RESULTS CONCLUSIONS:74 drugs were rejected in 2011 because of departing from the requirement by using ePS.The inventory error was reduced from 0.24% in 2009 to 0 in 2011.The number of pharmacists was reduced from 7 to 5.The ePS system is applied to the hospital drug logistics throughout to ensure the accuracy of drug information and enhance staff performance management efficiently.
