Correlation Between Polymorphism of Growth Hormone Gene 5'-region and Growth Performance of Guizhou Small Xiang Goats

Abstract:To provide a scientific basis for the breed conservation of genetic resources and further development and use of Guizhou Small Xiang Goat,the author screened the polymorphism of GH gene 5'-region by PCR-SSCP,and analyzed the relationship between the polymorphism and growth performances.The results showed that the 60th and 372nd spots of GH gene 5'-region were found the mutation of C→T,which produced three genotypes.The 60th mutation produced AB genotype,BB genotype and the advantage genotype AA genotype.While A allele was an advantageous allele,and each growth performance,including body weight,body length,body height,chest circumference and tube circumference,presented AA genotype>AB genotype>BB genotype,but they had no significant differences(P>0.05).And the 372nd mutation produced three genotypes,including the advantageous genotype CD genotype,CC genotype and DD genotype,and they had no significant differences(P>0.05),too.The GH gene 5 'region had polymorphism but had little impact on the growth performance of the Guizhou Small Xiang Goats.
