Detection of Th17 Cells and TC17 Cells in Peripheral Blood from Patients with Chronic Hepatitis B by Flow Cytometry

Abstract:Objective To establish a method for detection of Th17 and TC17 cells in peripheral blood by flow cytometry,and to investigate the alteration of Th17 and TC17 cells of patients with chronic hepatitis B(CHB).Methods The frequencies of Th17 and TC17 cells in 24 CHB patients and 15 healthy blood donors were detected by flow cytometry.Results Flow cytometry was employed to detect Th17 and TC17 cells in peripheral blood.The Th17 and TC17 cells in health control were(2.13±0.50)%(1.6%-3.3%)and(0.27±0.13)%(0.2%-0.6%),respectively,whereas Th17 and TC17 in CHB patients were(5.58±4.52)%(1.6%-19.0%)and(1.05±0.93)%(0.2%-3.1%)respectively.The differences of Th17 and TC17 were significant(P=0.007 and =0.004,respectively).Conclusion The levels of Th17 and TC17 cells are increased in CHB patients,which suggests some clues for alleviating hepatocyte damage in earlier CHB.
