Abstract:Effects of Salicylic acid (SA) on chilling-resistance of differently chilling-resistant eggplant varieties (cultivars Hebaochangqie',Lanzhouchangqie' andMeiguohongqie') were researched through spraying method in the present study.The results showed that SOD and POD activity of the three varieties increased;their CAT activity rose, while MDA content fell except those of Var.Meiguohongqie when they were sprayed by SA solution of different concentrations.The suitable SA concentrations for the three eggplant varieties were different for enhancing the chilling-resistance of eggplant seedlings.2.5 mmol/L SA was best to the low chilling-resistant variety.However,the most optimal concentration was 7.5 mmol/L for the highly chilling-resistant variety in the present study.
