Abstract:This research based on new born rat heart,and introduced the methods of histology,immunohistochemistry staining and toluidin blue staining to investigate and analysis the morphological characteristic and immunological marker of telocytes in new born rat heart.The results of histology and toluidin blue staining demonstrated that a great quantity of interstitial cells exit in new born rat heart,among the total,cardiac telocytes distributed between cardiac muscle fibers or around the fiber bundles.The morphology of cardiac telocytes was various,including long spindle-shape,fusiformate or triangle.Cardiac telocytes had one or more thin and long prolongations,while the cytoplasm was few,and the nucleus was compact and deeply colored.Immunohistochemistry staining further confirmed that cardiac telocytes in new born rat heart expressed not only the interstitial cell marker,vimentin;some of them were also immuno-positive for c-kit/CD117 and CD34,which are stem cells related markers.This research clarifies the basic characteristics and distribution of cardiac telocytes,and establishes morphosis foundation for further exploring the function of cardiac telocytes.
