Abstract:Abstract: Youth represent the future of the Party and the nation, playing a pivotal role in the country’s development. In the face of profound changes in both domestic and international contexts, their growth and development are influenced by a multitude of multicultural trends, which can be detrimental to their progress. Hence, there is an urgent need for the great founding spirit of the Party to steer the youth. The great founding spirit of the Party holds profound scientific significance, serving as an enduring source of inspiration throughout the party’s century-long history of remarkable achievements. Consequently, it holds paramount importance in nurturing the ideals and beliefs of young individuals, enhancing their sense of historical responsibility, cultivating their determination to overcome challenges, and fostering patriotism. Guiding the youth towards an internal ideological transformation encompasses four key aspects: cognition, emotions, determination, and practical application. This should be reinforced by robust institutional support and the creation of a favorable external environment, allowing the great founding spirit of the Party to guide the youth comprehensively from both internal and external perspectives.

Abstract:The Communist Youth League (CYL) has attempted to engage and respond to student interests and demands by expanding its channels for participation and consultation and by deepening its involvement in the provision of welfare services. Based on qualitative and quantitative research conducted in five universities in Beijing and Zhejiang province, this article evaluates the league’s engagement with its “constituency” on campus by bringing together the perspectives of both ordinary students and CYL cadres. Placing this case in a wider discussion of “authoritarian resilience” that seeks to understand the effectiveness of the Chinese regime’s institutional sources of support, the article demonstrates that despite initiatives promoting responsiveness, students exhibit an even more cynical stance on both the league’s newfound inclusivity and efficiency. CYL cadres occupy a weak position in the academic, generational, and political hierarchies on campus, a situation that compromises the league’s potential for a renewed and more responsive engagement with students.

Abstract:我国正处于社会结构调整、社会转型加快、社会矛盾凸显时期，党对群众的凝聚力和动员力面临新的挑战。随着高校学生党员人数的不断增加，越来越多的大学生递交了入党申请书，积极向党组织靠拢。由于入党积极分子、学生党员人数的增大，高校党建工作面临着新的压力，传统的党员教育方式效果欠佳，使广大学生迷失了递交入党申请书时的理想信念。研究服务功能下的高校党建工作，能为新时期高校学生党建工作提供理论依据。 Our country is in the period of social structure adjustment, social transformation speeding up and social contradiction prominent. The party’s cohesion and mobilization force to the masses are facing new challenges. With the increasing number of college student party members, more and more college students submitted the application for Party membership, and actively moved closer to the party organization. Due to the increase of party activists, the number of student party members, party building in colleges and universities are facing new pressures, poor effect of the traditional education of party members, so that the majority of students lose faith when submitting application. Studying the party building work in colleges and universities under the service function can provide a theoretical basis for the party building work of college students in the new era.

Abstract:Abstract: The Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC (the Communist Party of China is referred to as CPC in this paper) Central Committee stressed that the focus is on improving the Party's leadership and long-term governance capacity, innovate and improve the mode of leadership and governance, deepen reform of the system for Party building, and optimize the system for seeing party self-governance exercised fully and with rigor. This is a strong response to Xi Jinping's speech on July 1st that "it takes a good blacksmith to make good steel" and the report of The 20th CPC National Congress emphasized "the Party's self-revolution." It highlights the significance of full and rigorous Party self-governance and the value and orientation of building the ranks of party cadres.
