Abstract:Apoptosis, or programmed cell death, is a specialized form of cell death involved in a wide variety of physiological processes.[1, 2] Most anticancer therapeutic regimens induce apoptosis. The ability to assess apoptosis using noninvasive imaging techniques would markedly enhance the early evaluation and continuous monitoring of anticancer drug efficacy.
