Abstract:This paper introduces a image retrieval algorithm based on SIFT feature. The image was transformed feature vecter. The similarity was computed using Euclidean distance about two images' feature. Experiments show that it has good performance on special object.

Abstract:This paper presents a similarity match method based on global image and local sub-image using the SIFT features of digital images, and applies our algorithm to Content-Based Image Retrieval. In order to make the SIFT-based image retrieval results better, the most fundamental improvement comes in two areas. One is the introduction of the distance between the matched keypoints, and the shorter the distance between the matched keypoints, the lower the similarity measure. The other is that the image is partitioned off into sub-images, which reduces the mismatched keypoints. Experiments demonstrate effectiveness of the proposed approach compared with the traditional SIFT-based image retrieval and reveal it as a good option to image retrieval.

Abstract:In this paper, authors study using SIFT feature for medical image retrieval. Under bag-of-words framework, this paper study different methods forming visual words from local SIFT feature, and show good choice for medical image retrieval, in different condition. Through experimentation on different body parts, rotation and scale, the methods show different performance, thus provide reasonable choice for medical image retrieval.

Abstract:Image matching is an important way to implement trademark image retrieval. In this paper, we proposed an algorithm based on Scale Invariant Feature Transform (SIFT) for automatic trademark image search. Firstly, feature points were detected and described through calculating the gradient histogram of nearby region. Secondly, Euclidean distances were calculated to obtain the similarity between the SIFT features extracted from the two corresponding images. Experiment illustrated that the proposed method was robust to scale, viewpoint, occlusion and noise interference.

Abstract:To achieve highly accurate infringement retrieval for reference images in digital publications,an improved SIFT (scale invariant feature transformation)algorithm for image retrieval has been proposed in this paper.To increase the re-liability of feature-points matching and image retrieval,the neighborhood color features of SIFT feature-points are inno-vatively added to the image feature extraction process and a double-matching process is designed in our paper.In this pa-per,our improved algorithm is divided into three steps to describe:double scale space generation based on grayscale space and HSV color space respectively,new feature descriptors generation by combing traditional descriptors of feature-points and color feature vectors around feature points,feature-points searching and double matching.Experimental re-sults show that,compared with the original SIFT algorithm,our improved algorithm has higher retrieval accuracy,and at the same time,the retrieval speed is not significantly decreased.

Abstract:This paper provides an effective Web content-based image retrieval algorithm by using SIFT (scale invariant feature transform) feature. Different from other existing text-based Web image search engines, this algorithm can be applied to content-based Web image search engine effectively. SIFT descriptors, which are invariant to image scaling and transformation and rotation, and partially invariant to illumination changes and affine, present the local features of an image. Therefore, feature keypoints saved as XML files can be extracted more accurately by using SIFT than by color, texture, shape and spatial relations feature. To decrease unavailable features matching, a dynamic probability function replaces the original fixed value to determine the similarity distance of ROI (Region of interest) and database from Web training images. The experimental results show that this method improves the stability and precision of image retrieval.

Abstract:Aiming at the optical image affine transformation of the automatic registration,a coarse-to-fine remote sensing image automatic registration algorithm was proposed.Firstly,the input images were mapped for a local feature vector sets with translation,scaling and rotation invariant characteristic based on SIFT feature.According to the euclidean distance of the feature vector which is taken as the similarity decision measure,the initial matching feature points and the initial model parameter values of the transformation were determined.Secondly,making the mutual information as similarity measure,more established correspondence feature points were obtained based on the position control of the search strategy.Thirdly,the deeply optimized affine transformation model parameters were obtained by using the control points and the weighted least squares optimization algorithm together.In this way,a more sophisticated image registration was completed,and a root mean square error was used to evaluate the result of the registration.Finally joint histogram was taken as the registration precision evaluation standard to test registration effect.Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness and accuracy of the proposed method.

Abstract:Image retrieval methods based on the Scale Invariant Feature Transform (SIFT) algorithm have good performance except for the characteristics of time-consuming and high dimension feature vectors. This paper realizes an improved image retrieval method combining saliency maps with SIFT. The saliency map algorithm is used to define and detect the visually salient image regions which will be used in feature extraction and feature matching. The experimental results show that the improved method can not only reduce the retrieval time, but also rule out the interference in image matching caused by the feature points in background.

Abstract:SIFT feature matching algorithm is hot in the field of the currently feature matching research, its matching with the strong ability can deal with the translation, rotation, affine transformation occurring between images , and it also have a stable image feature matching ability to the images filmed at any angle. SIFT algorithm is adopted in this paper, matching feature point through the scale space , calculating the histogram of detecting feature point neighborhood of gradient direction characteristic vector and generation to SIFT eigenvector and the key points similarity measure. From different setting threshold, scale scaling, rotating, noise on the experiment, the experiment result proves this algorithm in the above aspects has good robustness, suitable for mass characteristic database of rapid, accurate matching.

Butterfly Image Retrieval Based on Sift Feature Analysis

Abstract:Butterfly image retrieval is very important in the insect recognition research area but the existing butterfly retrieval technology presents poor performance. SIFT (Scale Invariant Feature Transform) features are reliable because they are insensitive to image scale, rotation, affine, distortion and change in illumination. The local and multiscale natures of the SIFT feature make it create better performance than other existing approaches do. In this paper, a new butterfly image retrieval algorithm based on SIFT feature is presented. The butterfly images in this research are transformed into a set of SIFT feature descriptors, and then the similarity of feature points is described by using Euclidean distance. Experimental results demonstrate that the method based on SIFT feature provides a new effective way for butterfly image retrieval. This proposed algorithm is invariant to the changes of butterfly image scale, rotation, and transformation. It is also robust to distortion and occlusion. Compared with the method of using gray histogram, the performance of butterfly image retrieval based on SIFT feature is improved significantly.

Abstract:Image registration based on SIFT is an important technology in image processing.This technology has been widely used in many fields such as remote sensing mapping, object identification, image and video retrieval, navigation guidance and scene classification.With the study of existing documents of SIFT image registration, the classical SIFT algorithm is introduced in this paper.And the improved methods of SIFT are divided into two categories:the improvement of feature point extraction and the improvement of image registration.And then, the systematical introduction of them are conducted.At the same time, several performance evaluation standards of feature points image registration algorithms are introduced, and the research prospects of this algorithm are forecasted.

Abstract:A feature extraction algorithm of SIFT feature combined with global characteristics is proposed in this paper which can solve the problem of inefficacy feature description in objective feature.Firstly,the steps of constructing scale space,detecting extrema and confirming key-points are employed to create SIFT feature vector.Secondly,the global color characteristics is combined to SIFT feature to construct the union feature which makes the image content information more comprehensive.Thirdly,PCA dimensionality reduction algorithm is applied to reduce the dimension of union feature.Finally,the retrieval is implemented through distance match.The experiments indicate that a good application result of certain object description could be achieved in retrieval with the proposed algorithm.
An Image Retrieval Algorithm Based on Gist and Sift Features

Abstract:Aiming at solving the problem that the single feature cannot represent an image completely, an image retrieval al-gorithm which combines the global feature and the lo-cal feature is proposed. First, the GIST features of the query image and all the images in the image library are extracted. The global similarity of two images is measured by the Euclidean distance. The image database is retrieved by the GIST feature of the query image, and the results are arranged in ascending order of the similarity value. Second, the SIFT features of the query image are extracted as well as the k sub-images which are at the front of the returned results. Then, we perform the feature matching by using BBF algorithm. At last, the retrieval results are returned by sorting the number of matching points in descending order. The experiment is carried out on the improved Caltech101 dataset. Compared with the existing image retrieval algorithms, the proposed image retrieval algorithm not only improves the retrieval accuracy, but also achieves better retrieval eﬃ-ciency.

Abstract:Aiming at the high accuracy and speed requirements of images registration for multiband data or hyperspectral data, a new method which combines scale invariant feature transform (SIFT) with vegetation index analysis is put forward. Firstly, feature points extracted by SIFT algorithm are classified into two sets - points on vegetation area and points on non-vegetation area, which is based on vegetation index; then the two sets of feature points are matched separately using spectral angle distance as the similarity measure. Transformation parameters are obtained by least square method after mismatched points are removed. Experimental results show that the proposed method achieves higher speed as well as good registration accuracy.

Abstract:In the process of image retrieval, the traditional single feature can't reflect the distribution and details of image color and content, which have some adverse influence on the performance of image retrieval. This paper presents an image retrieval method based on improved color and texture feature. According to the mean of the HSV color model region, algorithm obtains the mean eigenvectors of the color feature by using the improved correlation weight model. The image decomposition transformation is obtained through the Haar wavelet. In the low-frequency component of the image decomposition, the low-frequency texture feature vector is obtained according to the low-frequency feature structure model. The similarity of image is calculated by the Canberra distance. Experimental results show that:the methods of retrieval are tested in Corel-1000 and Corel-5000 standard gallery, which accuracy rate and retrieval rate have been improved accordingly.

Abstract:In the process of image matching, it is involved such as image rotation, scale zooming, brightness change and other problems. In order to improve the precision of image matching, image matching algorithm based on SIFT feature point is proposed. First, the method of generating scale space is introduced. Then, the scale and position of feature points are determined through three dimension quadratic function and feature vectors are determined through gradient distribution characteristic of neighborhood pixels of feature points. Finally, feature matching is completed based on the Euclidean distance. The experiment result indicates that using SIFT feature point can achieve image matching effectively.

Abstract:In the study of Retinex image enhancement methods, there is a need to determine the quality of the image enhancement. But the images obtained through different Retinex image enhancement methods were quite similar. Thus, subjective evaluation criteria are not reliable. In this paper, the SIFT feature points are presented as an objective evaluation of images. Image quality evaluation method based on SIFT features were turned out to be feasible. Experimental results are consistent with the conclusions drawn by synthesizing information entropy, standard deviation, and the mean squared error.

Abstract:In this paper it introduces an algorithm of image retrieval for embedded system, which uses local features to do image retrieval. In order to reduce the time cost and get high precision, it improves SIFT feature and descriptor. It replaces Gauss filter with mean filter in detection of scale-space extrema stage. It projects SIFT feature into binary descriptor with sparse matrix. It searches and matches object with multi-probe LSH based on K-means. By doing a series of experiments scale, rotation, blur, illumination, it can draw a conclusion that the algorithm has better performance than traditional state of arts.
