Abstract:With the continuous increase of global trade and the increasing demand of consumers for high-quality food, people pay more and more attention to how to ensure food quality and safety in cold chain logistics. The research of cold chain logistics has also become the focus of the food industry, relevant government agencies and academia. In order to study the influence of various common factors in cold chain logistics on food safety, this paper introduces the application steps of improved analytic hierarchy process in detail, and uses this method to establish a hierarchical structure model, uses the three-scale method to establish the comparison matrix of influencing factors, and obtains the weight ranking of each factor by quantitative analysis. The calculation results show that: among the 13 factors affecting food safety, the main factors are packaging, equipment failure rate, wet temperature and inspection and testing, whose weights are 0.160, 0.133, 0.118 and 0.116, respectively, which are the focus of attention in the process of cold chain logistics. The evaluation results make the influence degree of various factors affecting food safety more clear, and can also provide a reference for improving the safety of cold chain logistics and adopting effective measures and means to do a good job in safe operation management.

Abstract:As a fourth party logistics provider integrates the capacities of third party logistics providers, 3PL vendor selection is an important problem. Furthermore, the 3PL vendor selection is a complex multi-criteria decision problem. The decision made by the decision maker or an evaluation team can be improved by a systematic and logistical approach to access priorities based on the inputs of the decision maker or the team made by several people. The analytic hierarchy process (AHP) can be very useful in reaching a likely result which can satisfy the decision maker or the team. In this paper, an AHP-based model is formulated and applied to a case study to examining the function in 3PL vendor selection. The use of the proposed model indicates that the computed quantitative evaluations can be applied to improve the precision of the selection.

Abstract:This article evaluates the performance of food cold chain logistics enterprises based on the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and entropy method. Based on the analysis of the present situation, an evaluation system of food cold chain logistics enterprises is established from four aspects, including the financial management, cold chain logistics process, development ability and customer service. The AHP method is used to determine subjective weights, and entropy method is used to get experts' own weights. Finally, a comprehensive index fusion weight is conducted. In addition, the result of an empirical analysis proved to be valid.

Abstract:Today, logistics is effective in every field and has an important share in the revival of both domestic and foreign trade. The rapid increase in competition in global trade has increased the importance of the logistics sector and, accordingly, logistics centers. With well-planned and high-performance logistics centers in our country, the contribution of the logistics sector to the economy will increase and it will be ensured that our country is a logistics base in international transportation corridors. In this study, Criteria were determined conducting a comprehensive literature review for logistics center location These criteria consist of seven main criteria, namely population, economy, cost, socio-economic status, infrastructure, geographical location and service, and twenty-seven sub-criteria belonging to these main criteria. The criterias were evaluated by benefiting from the opinions of experts in the field of logistics, and the order of importance of the main and sub-criteria determined for the logistics center location determination was found by AHP methods.

Abstract:In response to violent market competition and demand for low-carbon economy, cold chain logistics companies have to pay attention to customer satisfaction and carbon emission for better development. In this paper, a biobjective mathematical model is established for cold chain logistics network in consideration of economic, social, and environmental benefits; in other words, the total cost and distribution period of cold chain logistics are optimized, while the total cost consists of cargo damage cost, refrigeration cost of refrigeration equipment, transportation cost, fuel consumption cost, penalty cost of time window, and operation cost of distribution centres. One multiobjective hyperheuristic optimization framework is proposed to address this multiobjective problem. In the framework, four selection strategies and four acceptance criteria for solution set are proposed to improve the performance of the multiobjective hyperheuristic framework. As known from a comparative study, the proposed algorithm had better overall performance than NSGA-II. Furthermore, instances of cold chain logistics are modelled and solved, and the resulting Pareto solution set offers diverse options for a decision maker to select an appropriate cold chain logistics distribution network in the interest of the logistics company.

Abstract:Logistics distribution center is an important part of logistics system, whether its location is reasonable will directly affect the operational efficiency and economic benefits of logistics system. Scientific and reasonable location distribution can effectively reduce transportation costs, save distribution time and improve logistics service quality. In this paper, taking the location of distribution center of R enterprise as an example, the combination of hierarchical analysis and gray correlation method is used to clarify the relative relationship between the elements and the target decision by the gray correlation method, while the relative importance between the elements is chosen to analyze by the hierarchical analysis method, and finally the comprehensive correlation degree is calculated. The fusion of these two methods is an advanced algorithm.

Study on the Location of Cold Chain Distribution Center Considering Scale Effect

Abstract:People are paying more attention to the freshness of cold chain products when making choices. Establishing cold chain distribution centers can improve the timeliness and service quality of cold chain logistics. Cold chain distribution centers require significant investment, necessitating a more scientific approach to site selection. Furthermore, compared to regular distribution centers, cold chain distribution centers exhibit clear economies of scale, thus necessitating careful consideration of these economies of scale during site selection and construction. The paper analyzes the scale effect of the cold chain distribution center, and constructs a cold chain distribution center location model considering the scale effect. The objective function of the model includes the related costs of the cold chain distribution center location, such as fixed cost, operating cost, transportation cost, loss cost and carbon emission cost, etc., with the minimum total cost as the function objective. Finally, this paper designs a calculation example design. The model calculation example is solved by Lingo software, and the optimal location plan of the cold chain distribution center is obtained. The calculation example results verify the effectiveness of the model.

Abstract:In recent years, people's demand for fresh fruits and vegetables for freshness, quality safety, and on-time performance is constantly increasing, and the risk factors existing in each link are also different. The risk of any link may affect the whole process of logistics can not be fully operated, or even directly cause the logistics service can not be completed.Therefore, it is very important to identify and analyze the risks of cold chain logistics from different perspectives.Based on the above considerations, through fully understanding the characteristics of cold chain logistics, this paper takes SF food cold chain logistics as an example, and analyzes the risk factors in cold chain logistics, including warehousing risk, technical risk, distribution risk and information risk.And using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to analyze and model the risk factors and calculate, the results show that the weight of warehousing risk factor and distribution risk factor is 0.3597 and 0.3120 respectively, which has the greatest impact on food cold chain logistics.Finally, the four risk factors of the model results are analyzed, and the risk control measures of SF food cold chain logistics are given.
Comprehensive decision-making method for optimal location of logistics hubs

Abstract:A mathematical optimal model is developed to address the problem of logistics hubs location.The method integrates nonlinear programming models and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation,and handles both quantitative and qualitative factors that influence the location of logistics hubs.A mathematical programming model is used to find the optimal candidate sites of the logistics hub based on profit-maximizing criteria.Then a fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method is adopted to determine the final optimal location of those candidate sites by taking account of criteria including stability of policy environment,convenience of transportation(e.g.,easy access to highways/expressways,etc.),rationality of economy,competition and sustainability.Finally,the methodology is demonstrated by a case study of the Transfar Logistics Base in Zhejiang Province.The results verify the method application for logistics hub locations and show how to locate a logistics hub in practice from the case of Transfar Logistics Base.

Abstract:Abstract. Allocating a certain territory for transportation, logistics and distribution of goods involves spatial planning and infrastructure rationalization. The decisions regarding the geographical location of the logistics center itself and its structural elements are extremely important, because their impact on the indicators of its activity is long-term. And if mis-take is made during the construction of production or logistics facilities, and this or that facility is placed in an unfortu-nate place, then to correct the situation (moving to a new, better place), a large amount of material, financial, labor and other resources will be needed, which will lead to to the loss of customers, time, freezing of capital and, accordingly, a decrease in the competitiveness of enterprises, industries, countries, etc. The work summarizes the criteria for choosing the location of the logistics center and reviews practices for making decisions about its optimal location, substantiating proposals for choosing the best method. Making a decision about choosing the optimal location of a logistics center is a very difficult economic and mathemat-ical task, because decision-makers have to rationalize the combination of quantitative and qualitative factors, the mass of factors and the trade-offs between them on the basis of socio-economic, political and geographical criteria and the condi-tion of the motor transport infrastructure. When choosing the optimal location of the logistics center, it is proposed to apply the method of analytical hierarchy (AI), which includes procedures for synthesizing many statements, obtaining the priority of criteria and finding alternative solutions. This paper seeks to analyse various countries in the Asia Pacific (AP) region to determine their suitability in carrying out reverse logistics operations for an international electrical manufacturer. Key factors to be considered in the decision-making process are identified. Owing to the complexity stemming from a multitude of qualitative factors affecting the location decisions, an Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is proposed for solving such a complex decision-making problem.

Abstract:<p>Owing to the fast economic and social development in Wuhan, the demand for cold chain logistics is increasing rapidly. Currently, the scale of the existing distribution centers cannot fully meet this demand, so building new ones would seem necessary. Research rarely considers consumer choice from the perspective of competition between new and existing cold chain distribution centers, and the low-carbon concept is rarely considered when a competitive site is selected. This paper therefore puts forward a model to assist the decision-making process regarding the choice of location where cold chain logistics facilities might be sited. Based on a bi-level programming method, this model is constructed where the upper level of government aims to determine an optimal location and scale for a cold chain distribution center as well as a rational trading policy regarding carbon emissions to minimize the total social cost of the whole logistics system.The lower level adopts the demand user equilibrium model, which considers the demands of logistics users when choosing between new and existing cold chain distribution centers, so as to minimize the cost incurred by each logistics user. We use the cloud particle swarm optimization algorithm to solve the model and decide a suitable location for a new center in Wuhan, the principal city in the Hubei Province, in China. The study reveals that: (1) The high demand is equivalent to the high number of new distribution centers; (2) The high attractiveness of these centers is equal to their high total scale; (3) Changes in carbon emissions trading prices have an impact on the scale, total carbon emissions, and total social cost of new cold chain distribution centers; (4) The carbon emissions quota policy has an impact on the scale of the location chosen for a new cold chain distribution center, total carbon emissions, and total social costs. This article provides a scientific basis regarding decisions concerning the location of new cold chain distribution centers by the government, and provides some ideas for energy conservation improvement and carbon emissions reduction by the whole society.</p>

Abstract:In order to solve the optimization problem of logistics distribution system for fresh food, this paper provides a low-carbon and environmental protection point of view, based on the characteristics of perishable products, and combines with the overall optimization idea of cold chain logistics distribution network, where the green and low-carbon location-routing problem (LRP) model in cold chain logistics is developed with the minimum total costs as the objective function, which includes carbon emission costs. A hybrid genetic algorithm with heuristic rules is designed to solve the model, and an example is used to verify the effectiveness of the algorithm. Furthermore, the simulation results obtained by a practical numerical example show the applicability of the model while provide green and environmentally friendly location-distribution schemes for the cold chain logistics enterprise. Finally, carbon tax policies are introduced to analyze the impact of carbon tax on the total costs and carbon emissions, which proves that carbon tax policy can effectively reduce carbon dioxide emissions in cold chain logistics network.

Abstract:The subjectivity and vagueness in the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) method have been handled by the various extensions of ordinary fuzzy sets. The q-Rung Orthopair Fuzzy Sets (q-ROFs) are superior to the intuitionistic and the Pythagorean fuzzy sets to express uncertain information. Their eminent characteristic is that the space of uncertain information they can describe is broader. The aim of this paper is to extend the classical AHP to q-Rung Orthopair Fuzzy sets. The proposed method has successfully evaluated the disaster logistics location center selection in Istanbul with respect to the considered attributes. The results are compared with Chang fuzzy AHP method, and revealed that the proposed method better represents the uncertainty of decision-making environment.

Abstract:This paper seeks to effectively realize energy saving and emission reduction in the process of location for fresh agricultural cold chain logistics. It is based on the traditional location for distribution center optimized for both freshness and carbon emissions. A bi-objective function location model was constructed to minimize the total cost and carbon emission and a two-stage heuristic algorithm was designed to solve the model. According to analyzing the location case of Y enterprise in Zhejiang Province, the THA had an average total cost optimization rate of 7.70% and an average carbon emission optimization rate of 10.23% compared to the WOA, while it had a rate of 12.77% and 14.12%, respectively, compared to the PSO. When the unit carbon emission cost increased from 0.02 dollar/kg to 0.06 dollar/kg, the comprehensive carbon emission cost increased by 42.07% and the total cost increased by 3.05%. Therefore, logistics enterprises can achieve the reduction of logistics costs and sustainable development through reasonable location for fresh agricultural products cold chain distribution centers.

Abstract:SUMMARY As a multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) method, the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) has been used considerably to solve hierarchical or network-based decision problems in socio-economic fields. Following an in-depth explanation of the transport function in logistics and an overview of the MCDM methods, the AHP model is employed in the paper for a logistics company in selecting the most suitable way of transportation between two given locations in Turkey. The criteria used in the selection of transportation modes are identified as the cost, speed, safety, accessibility, reliability, environmental friendliness, and flexibility. Several cost parameters (transportation, storage, handling, bosphorus crossover) are incorporated into the decision-making process. The application is carried out in instructional character. The results of the study indicate that the railway transportation, which is not widely used in Turkey, is also an alternative and suitable means of transportation. Selection of a Logistics Service Provider Based on Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) Approach : A case study of Swedish Coffee Manufacturer—Gevalia

Abstract:Logistics outsourcing has been applied in practices by enterprises for decades, but its efficiency is always restricted because logistics service providers (LSPs) often only have a single function such as delivery or warehousing. In the last few years, LSPs have upgraded their capabilities to support some other logistics services including value-added services, materials management, information-related services etc. The purpose of this thesis is to identify the differences between self-built logistics system and outsourcing logistics system by using the Strengths Weaknesses Opportunities Threats (SWOT) strategic analysis; and figure out how to apply the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to make an appropriate selection among LSPs that based on the single-case study of Gevalia. Both quantitative and qualitative methods have been used in this study, authors expect to describe and explore the application of AHP approach regarding to the case company which implements outsourcing logistics system. Accordingly, it could be a good idea for case company to implement the mixed mode of self-built and outsourcing logistics system after using the SWOT strategic analysis. In addition, the production and logistics manager of case company emphasized that the five selection criteria including “compatibility”, “delivery performance”, “location”, “management” and “cost” should be considered as a priority among other different criterion when he selected a LSP. As a result, it will be efficient and effective for us to simulate a best decision for those industrial manufacturing enterprises to achieve a path regarding to the selection of the best logistics partner that based on the significant AHP approach.
