Abstract:An 8-week feeding trial was conducted to investigate growth, feed utilization, body composition, hemopoiesis of grass carp fed on purified diet added with vitamin B12(VB12) at a gradient of 0(control group),0.025,0.050,0.100,0.200,0.400,0.800 mg/kg diet. The results showed that: the highest specific growth rate and weight gain rate were observed at the group of 0.100 mg/kg,while feed conversion rate was the lowest at the group of 0.050 mg/kg,in addition, these indexes were significantly different from those of the control group(P0.05).Survival rate and condition factor of the fish were not significantly different among different treatments. The platelet count and hemoglobin in blood of test fish were the highest in 0.100 mg/kg and 0.200 mg/kg group, and significantly higher than the control group(P0.05),while the supplement of VB12 to diet did not significantly effect red blood count of the fish.No significant difference of moisture, crude protein, crude lipid and crude ash in the whole body was observed among different treatments. The dietary VB12 requirement for juvenile grass carp based on the regression analysis between special growth rate and dietary VB12 supplement was estimated to be 0.094 mg/kg of diets.
