Analysis of the Relationship between Economic Growth and Environmental Degradation of Jiangsu Province

Abstract:Based on the theory of Environmental Kuznets Curve,with the economic and environmental data in Jiangsu province from 1990 to 2006,an Environmental Kuznets Curve model of Jiangsu industrial "three wastes" was established.The relationship between environment and economic of Jiangsu was analyzed and the trend of "three wastes" discharge was theoretically estimated.The research shows that Environmental Kuznets Curve of Jiangsu doesn't totally measure up a normal inverted U pattern,but has three forms: the curve of waste water takes on a non-EKC shape;the curve of waste gas performs a shape of inverted U+U,which has two turning points at 5 635 yuan and 16 587 yuan respectively and the curve of solid waste takes the shape of the left side of a U pattern whose turning point is at 32 402 yuan.
