Abstract:The researches on the Chinese humanity spirit have witnessed 30 years since the 3rd Session of the 11th Meeting of the Chinese Communist Party.These 30 years may be roughly divided into four periods.The first period is from the end of the 1970s to the early of 1990s,a time the Chinese humanity spirit resuscitates and enlightens.The wide-scaled discussions on the truth criterion launched in 1978 focus on human nature and its alienation and the relationship between Marxism and humanitarianism,through which people realized preliminarily that the issue of human and human nature should not be the bourgeoisie's patent and hence the theoretical forbidden zone:In fact,Marxism too attends to human,and to human value;researches in this area should be strengthened.The second period is in the middle of the 1990s for debating and reconstructing contemporary Chinese humanity spirit.Then such topics as what humanity spirit is,whether the humanity spirit has lost or not,and how to reconstruct it become hot debate.It is another wide-scaled theoretical discussion since the cultural craze of the 1980s.The third period is after the middle of 1990s,a time of combining the theory and practice of the Chinese humanity spirit study,which should step out of the theoretical shackles and shift to such practical issues as the relationship between humanity spirit,modernization and market economy.The forth period is the past ten years of the 21st century for the exploration.This is a time the research has been further extended and some new ideas appeared.In the 21st century,the study should bear an international consciousness,seek the humanity-oriented ideal and maintain the harmony between human beings and the nature.
