Abstract:This letter describes a new multiresolution time-domain scheme which is developed based on Coifman compactly supported scaling functions with a number of vanishing moments. The highly linear dispersion properties of this scheme are investigated and two-dimensional and three-dimensional scattering problems are analyzed in order to demonstrate the advantages of this scheme over conventional finite difference time-domain schemes with respect to memory requirements and computing time.
