Effect of Ozone on Postharvest Physiology of Kumquat

Abstract:Kumquat (Fortunella Crassifolia Swingle and Fortunella Margarita Swingle)was used to study the effects of ozone on firmness,rate of weight loss,respiratory intensity,relative conductivity,MDA content and SOD activity. Results showed that ozone markedly inhibited the respiratory intensity of kumquat,delayed the decrease of the hardness,increase the SOD activity,slowed down the accumulation of MDA content,reduced the relative conductivity and rate of weight loss,and so significantly delayed maturity and senescence of fruit.
