Abstract:Let [Formula: see text] be a Hopf algebroid and [Formula: see text] a left [Formula: see text]-module algebra. In this paper, we mainly present the duality theorem for the smash product [Formula: see text], and making use of integral theory for Hopf algebroids, we investigate the stability of Gorenstein injective pre-envelopes and Gorenstein projective precovers between the category of [Formula: see text]-modules and the category of [Formula: see text]-modules. Moreover, we establish the relationship between Gorenstein global dimension of [Formula: see text] and that of [Formula: see text], and prove that [Formula: see text] has finite representation type, resp. is selfinjective, resp. is CM-finite [Formula: see text]-Gorenstein, if and only if [Formula: see text] has the same property under suitable conditions. As an application, we investigate the representation dimension of the lower triangular matrix Artin algebra [Formula: see text].

Abstract:The notion of weak Doi-Hopf π-datum and weak Doi-Hopf π-module are given as generalizations of an ordinary weak Doi-Hopf datum and weak Doi-Hopf module introduced in (Böhm, 2000), also as a generalization of a Doi-Hopf π-module introduced in (Wang, 2004). Then we also show that the functor forgetting action or coaction has an adjoint. Furthermore we explain how the notion of weak Doi-Hopf π-datum is related to weak smash product. This paper presents our preliminary results on weak Doi-Hopf group modules.

Abstract:We prove a Maschke type theorem for the category of Doi–Hopf modules. In fact, we give necessary and sufficient conditions for the functor that forgets the C-coaction to be separable. This leads to a generalized notion of integrals. Our results can be applied to obtain Maschke type theorems for Yetter–Drinfel'd modules, Long dimodules, and modules graded by G-sets. Existing Maschke type theorems due to Doi and the authors are recovered as special cases.

Abstract:Let $(H,\a_H)$ be a Hom-Hopf algebra, $(A,\a_A)$ a right $H$-comodule algebra and $(C,\a_C)$ a left $H$-module coalgebra. Then we have the category $_A\mathcal{M}(H)^C$ of Hom-type Doi-Hopf modules. The aim of this paper is to make the category $_A\mathcal{M}(H)^C$ into a braided monoidal category. Our construction unifies quasitriangular and coquasitriangular Hom-Hopf algebras and Hom-Yetter-Drinfeld modules. We study tensor identities for monoidal categories of Hom-type Doi-Hopf modules. Finally we show that the category $_A\mathcal{M}(H)^C$ is isomorphic to $A\#C^*$-module category.

Abstract:It is known that any strict tensor category (C⊗I) determines a braided tensor categoryZ(C), the centre ofC. WhenA is a finite dimension Hopf algebra, Drinfel’d has proved thatZ(A M) is equivalent to D(A) M as a braided tensor category, whereA M is the left A-module category andD(A) is the Drinfel’d double ofA. For a braided tensor category, the braidC U,v is a natural isomorphism for any pair of object (U,V) in. If weakening the natural isomorphism of the braidC U,V to a natural transformation, thenC U,V is a prebraid and the category with a prebraid is called a prebraided tensor category. Similarly it can be proved that any strict tensor category determines a prebraided tensor category Z∼ (C), the near centre of. An interesting prebraided tensor structure of the Yetter-Drinfel’d category C*A YD C*A given, whereC # A is the smash product bialgebra ofC andA. And it is proved that the near centre of Doi-Hopf module A M(H) C is equivalent to the Yetter-Drinfel’ d C*A YD C*A as prebraided tensor categories. As corollaries, the prebraided tensor structures of the Yetter-Drinfel’d category A YD A , the centres of module category and comodule category are given.

Abstract:We explore functors between operator space categories, some properties of these functors, and establish relations between objects in these categories and their images under these functors, in particular regarding injectivity and injective envelopes. We also compare the purely categorical definition of injectivity with the 'standard' operator theoretical definition. An appendix by D. P. Blecher discusses the unitization of an operator space and its injective envelope.

Abstract:We first introduce the notion of Doi Hom-Hopf modules and find the sufficient condition for the category of Doi Hom-Hopf modules to be monoidal. Also we obtain the condition for the monoidal Hom-algebra and monoidal Hom-coalgebra to be monoidal Hom-bialgebras. Second, we give the maps between the underlying monoidal Hom-Hopf algebras, Hom-comodule algebras and Hom-module coalgebras give rise to functors between the category of Doi Hom-Hopf modules and study tensor identities for monodial categories of Doi Hom-Hopf modules. Furthermore, we construct a braiding on the category of Doi Hom-Hopf modules. Finally, as an application of our theory, we consider the braiding on the category of Hom-modules, the category of Hom-comodules and the category of Hom-Yetter-Drinfeld modules respectively.

Abstract:We study the following question: when is the right adjoint of the forgetful functor from the category of (H, A, C)-Doi-Hopf modules to the category of A-modules also a left adjoint? We can give some necessary and sufficient conditions; one of the equivalent conditions is that C x A and the smash product A # C* are isomorphic as (A, A # C*)-bimodules. The isomorphism can be described using a generalized type of integral. Our results may be applied to some specific cases. In particular, we study the case A = H, and this leads to the notion of k-Frobenius H-module coalgebra. In the special case of Yetter-Drinfel'd modules over a field, the right adjoint is also a left adjoint of the forgetful functor if and only if H is finite dimensional and unimodular.

Abstract:In this paper, we give a relationship between projective generators (resp., injective cogenerators) in the category of R-modules and the counterparts in the category of complexes of R-modules. As a consequence, we get that complexes of W-Gorenstein modules are actually Open image in new window -Gorenstein complexes whenever W is a subcategory of R-modules satisfying W ⊥ W, where Open image in new window is the subcategory of exact complexes with all cycles in W. We also study when all cycles of a Open image in new window -Gorenstein complexes are W-Gorenstein modules.

Abstract:We prove that crossed modules (or Yetter-Drinfel’d modules) are special cases of Doi’s unified Hopf modules. The category of crossed H -modules is therefore a Grothendieck category (if we work over a field), and the Drinfel’d double appears as a type of generalized smash product.

Abstract:There are theorems in the literature which are referred as Maschke type theorems, because of the attempt to generalize Maschke's classical theorem. Our remark is that all these theorems are in fact providing sufficient conditions for the separability of a certain forgetful functor. But, unlike classical Maschke's theorem, where the sufficient condition is also necessary, none of these theorems gives any necessary condition for the separability of the forgeful functor in question. Our job is to find a necessary and sufficient condition for the separability of the forgetful functor from the category of Doi-Hopf modules forgetting the comodule structure. As in the classical case, this functor is separable iff exists a certain "integral map" with a normalizing property. As particular cases, improved versions of "Maschke type" theorems are given. Other various applications are given. For example, keeping in mind that the category of Yetter-Drinfel'd modules is also a category of Doi-Hopf modules, we obtain the notion of quantum integral. For H a finite dimensional Hopf algebra, the existence of such a quantum integral is a necessary and sufficient condition for the Drinfel'd double to be a separable extension of H.

Abstract:We develop the categorical algebra of the noncommutative base change of a comodule category by means of a Grothendieck category S . We describe when the resulting category of comodules is locally finitely generated, locally noetherian or may be recovered as a coreflective subcategory of the noncommutative base change of a module category. We also introduce the category SHA of relative (A,H) -Hopf modules in S , where H is a Hopf algebra and A is a right H -comodule algebra. We study the cohomological theory in SHA by means of spectral sequences. Using coinduction functors and functors of coinvariants, we study torsion theories and how they relate to injective resolutions in SHA . Finally, we use the theory of associated primes and support in noncommutative base change of module categories to give direct sum decompositions of minimal injective resolutions in SHA .

Abstract:We prove a Maschke type theorem for Doi–Hopf modules. A sufficient condition in order to have a Maschke type property is that there exists a normalized integral map for the Doi–Hopf datum in question. The results are applied to graded modules and to Yetter–Drinfel'd modules. As another application, a characterization of cosemisimple coalgebras over a field is given.

Abstract:In this paper, we are interested in a class of modules partaking in the hierarchy of injective and cotorsion modules, so-called Harmanci injective modules, which turn out by the motivation of relations among the concepts of injectivity, flatness and cotorsionness. We give some characterizations and properties of this class of modules. It is shown that the class of all Harmanci injective modules is enveloping, and forms a perfect cotorsion theory with the class of modules whose character modules are Matlis injective. One of the main objectives we pursue is to know when the injective envelope of a ring as a module over itself is a flat module.

Abstract:We study Doi-Hopf data and Doi-Hopf modules for Hopf group-coalgebras. We introduce modules graded by a discrete Doi-Hopf datum; to a Doi-Hopf datum over a Hopf group coalgebra, we associate an algebra graded by the underlying discrete Doi-Hopf datum, using a smash product type construction. The category of Doi-Hopf modules is then isomorphic to the category of graded modules over this algebra. This is applied to the category of Yetter-Drinfeld modules over a Hopf group coalgebra, leading to the construction of the Drinfeld double. It is shown that this Drinfeld double is a quasitriangular graded Hopf algebra.

Abstract:We construct Hopf bimodules and Yetter-Drinfeld modules of Hopf algebroids as a generalization of the theory for Hopf algebras. More precisely, we show that the categories of Hopf bimodules and Yetter-Drinfeld modules over a Hopf algebroid are equivalent (pre-)braided monoidal categories. Moreover, we also study the duality between finitely generated projective Yetter-Drinfeld modules.

Abstract:This is the first one in a series of two papers on the continuation of our study in cup products in Hopf cyclic cohomology. In this note we construct cyclic cocycles of algebras out of Hopf cyclic cocycles of algebras and coalgebras. In the next paper we consider producing Hopf cyclic cocycle from "equivariant" Hopf cyclic cocycles. Our approach in both situations is based on (co)cyclic modules and bi(co)cyclic modules together with Eilenberg-Zilber theorem which is different from the old definition of cup products defined via traces and cotraces on DG algebras and coalgebras.
