Effects of different light intensity to the seed germination rate of Catalpa bungei

Abstract:The different light intensity were used to test the seed germination rate of Catalpa bungei and to understand the light sensitivity of Catalpa bungei seeds.The results showed that at constant temperature,under 24hour light-supply the rate of emergence was highest,reaching 78.3%.The seed germination rate positive correlate with light -supply hours.Proper darkness -treatment at the prophase of germination could elevate the seed germination materially.Darkness -treatment at the prophase could not alter the light characteristics of seed germination,but it could enhance the light sensitivity.Darkness-treatment at the anaphase of germination could inhibit the seed germination at certain extent.
