Origins of Ancient Egyptian Civilization: Endogenous and Hybridized Views

Abstract:Egyptologists and other scholars have attempted to provide a clear answer to the origins of ancient Egyptian civilization. However, due partly to an inadequate preservation of cultural relics and partly to the relationship between ancient Egypt and west Asia and Black Africa, this issue has remained largely unresolved. Whereas many European and American scholars try to prove the "northern origins" of the civilization, African and American black scholars emphasize its Black African lineage. Recent archeological excavations from Egypt, Levant and Nubia reveal that ancient Egyptian civilization was an indigenous one under the dual influence of northern and southern forces. This duality has resulted in the fact that ancient Egyptian civilization had been dominated by the two trends of union and division fighting and reconciling with each other.
