Abstract:Species and contents of various constituents,especially sulfides in light benzol are analyzed by gas chromatogram-mass spectrometry (GC-MS),gas chromatogram-flame ionization detector(GC-FID),and gas chromatogram-flame photometric detector(GC-FPD).The results show that the total content of monocyclic aromatic hydrocarbon such as benzol,toluene etc.in the light benzol is up to 94.90%;other impurities mainly include sulfide,nitride and olefin etc.,among which removal of thiophene and alkyl thiophene is the vital question in hydro-refining of the light benzol.By comparison of various benzol hydro-refining technologies abroad,it is considered that the low-temperature benzol hydro-refining technology is the preferable benzol refining process for coking enterprises in China.Finally,the development of technologies and catalysts for the crude benzol hydro-refining in China is introduced,and improvements for low-temperature benzol hydro-refining and corresponding catalysts are discussed.

Abstract:The characteristic and hazard of coking wastewater are introduced.The treatment techniques of some kinds of coking wastewater and the research on their application situation in China and abroad,including physical method,chemical method,physical-chemical process and biochemical method,are reviewed.The newest trends of combined processes,such as the biological denitrification in biological method,highly efficient microorganism+O/A/O biological denitrificaion etc.,are introduced emphatically.The advantages and disadvantages of these approaches are analyzed and compared,and the existing inadequacies and future development directions are pointed out.

Abstract:The thermochemical reaction between coking wastewater and gasification-coke is a new way to achieve efficient and clean use of coal and solve the problem of coking wastewater treatment in the Gansu Longdong region. To further investigate the thermochemical reaction characteristics of coking wastewater and gasification-coke, this paper explores the effect of coking wastewater on syngas production from coke gasification at 1000 °C, the degradation effect of organic pollutants in coking wastewater, the thermochemical reactivity of gasification-coke, and the reasons why wastewater promotes coke gasification and wastewater degradation. The results showed that the thermochemical reaction of coking wastewater with gasification-coke not only facilitates the improvement of syngas yield and low-level calorific value but also improves the thermochemical reactivity of gasification-coke. Notably, phenol in coking wastewater plays a major role in promoting the gasification of gasification-coke. During the thermochemical reaction, the organic pollutants in the wastewater were effectively degraded, the degradation rate of CODCr reached more than 85%, and the degradation of organic pollutants reached more than 75%. Phenol water and coking wastewater can not only improve the dispersion of the ash phase on the surface of gasification-coke, effectively inhibiting the sintering and agglomeration of the ash phase in gasification-coke, but also change the type and number of organic functional groups in gasification-coke. Therefore, coking wastewater can promote the gasification of coke. The thermochemical reaction between coke wastewater and gasification-coke can simultaneously promote coke gasification and the degradation of coke wastewater and achieve the resourceful use of coke wastewater.

Abstract:A new method for treating coke-cooling wastewater in a delayed coking unit has been reported. The process uses highsulfur heavy oil as its raw material, and requires a large amount of cooling water. The coking process combines severe thermal cracking and condensation reactions, and requires a large amount of high-grade energy. Water containing fine coke and oil can cause costly operational and maintenance problems. Solids can settle in the water storage tank, requiring routine flushing or cleaning. A key component of the process is a single-stage, high-efficiency de-oiling hydrocyclone, a centrifugal separation device that, unlike other centrifugal machines, has no moving parts. The hydrocyclone consists of cylindrical and conical components. The system also has the potential to reduce unit outage and shutdown time. The method enables cleaner production of petrochemicals through a closed system with pollution-free discharge.

Abstract:Advanced treatment of refractory industrial wastewater is still a challenge. Coking wastewater is one of coal chemical wastewater, which contains various refractory organic pollutants. To meet the more and more rigorous discharge standard and increase the reuse ratio of coking wastewater, advanced treatment process must be set for treating the biologically treated coking wastewater. To date, several advanced oxidation processes (AOPs), including Fenton, ozone, persulfate-based oxidation, and iron-carbon micro-electrolysis, have been applied for the advanced treatment of coking wastewater. However, the performance of different advanced treatment processes changed greatly, depending on the components of coking wastewater and the unique characteristics of advanced treatment processes. In this review article, the state-of-the-art advanced treatment process of coking wastewater was systematically summarized and analyzed. Firstly, the major organic pollutants in the secondary effluents of coking wastewater was briefly introduced, to better understand the characteristics of the biologically treated coking wastewater. Then, the performance of various advanced treatment processes, including physiochemical methods, biological methods, advanced oxidation methods and combined methods were discussed for the advanced treatment of coking wastewater in detail. Finally, the conclusions and remarks were provided. This review will be helpful for the proper selection of advanced treatment processes and promote the development of advanced treatment processes for coking wastewater.

Abstract:In order to solve problems of high operating cost troubled the domestic coking enterprises, this article presents a novel distributed energy system based on process industry (DESP). Through the establishment of Coke Oven-DESP (CO-DESP) and Tube Furnace-DESP (TF-DESP), replace the original energy flow network mainly using the steam and thermal conductive oil with the new energy flow network mainly using flue gas and hot un-loaded wash oil. Amount of waste heat recovered during process by CO-DESP and TF-DESP is 16 Mkcal/h and 5.1 Mkcal/h, respectively. It effectively reduces the running costs of coking process and greatly increases the competitiveness of domestic coking enterprises.

Abstract:A closed-cycle process of coke-cooling water was developed,which integrated multilevel condensation,gradient separation and mechanical purification of pollutants.The process was used in 1 Mt/a coke-cooling water system.The running results indicate that the recovery rates of wastewater, slop oil,coke and volatile organic compounds are all 100%.Compared with other homogeneous processes at home and abroad,the process has the advantages of higher recovery efficiency,lower investment,better economic and social benefits,and so it has a good application prospect.

Abstract:Coal gasification wastewater is produced in the process of coal gasification. Its water quality is character-ized by having highly concentrated,toxic and non-degradable pollutants. The present status of the treatment technologies of coal gasification wastewater is introduced in three aspects ,including the physico-chemical pretreatment,biochemical treatment and advaned treatment of highly concentrated coal gasficiation wastewater treatment technologies. The advantages and disadvantages of all the treatment technologies ,and the problems existing in their applications are analyzed emphatically. Their future research directions,namely,further research on the optimization of dephenolization and ammonia distillation processes ,membrane bioreactor strengthening technology,and advanced treatment of membrane technology,are looked forward,so as to provide references for solving the problems in coal gasification wastewater treatment.

Abstract:Aiming at common challenges of traditional coking enterprises,such as the low energy utilization efficiency,the serious polluted environment,the short industry chain and the low value-added products,and so on,Tangsteel Meijin coking company developed a series of innovative coking process techniques. The new processes included mainly the 7m large capacity coke oven with wide oven chamber and multistage heat,the high temperature and high pressure CDQ of high efficiency power generation process,the efficient reuse process of waste water comprehensive treatment,the dust collecting process of the whole coking process,the solid wastes recycling process,the energy-efficient producing LNG process by using coke oven gas,etc. The new techniques are the highly efficient coke oven gas purification processes,the comprehensive technology of dust and poisonous gas control and negative pressure collection of exhaust gas,the refined distillation optimization technique of crude benzol extraction and the intelligent coking technology,etc.By using those new processes and techniques,Tangsteel Meijin coking company accomplished the overall optimization of coking process,and realized the the green transformation process of coking enterprises. New technologies would provide guidelines on getting rid of high energy consumption and high emission,and achieving cost-saving and profit-increasing and environmental friendliness for coking industry.
R&D of a new technology of conversion of coke oven gas from bituminous coal into syngas

Abstract:A kind of new technology with an integrated apparatus (IA) for producing syngas from bituminous coal is developed. In the integrated apparatus three processes: coal pyrolysis, partial coal gasification and conversion of coke oven gas (COG) into syngas are completed and three products: syngas, ferro-alloy coke (semi-coke) and tar are produced in an environmental friendly manner. In this paper, the status of China's semi-coke industry and coke oven gas utilization are introduced; the principle of conversing CH4-rich gas such as COG into syngas with the assistance of H2O-O2 in a high temperature carbon catalytic system are analyzed; and other technological issues, such as the process, main technical specifications of the integrated apparatus, product quality, energy consumption, financial estimation, and environmental protection etc. are discussed. It has been shown by research that the main technical specifications of the integrated apparatus are as following: coal processing capability 23 T/d, coke yield 14.7 T/d, tar yield 1.15 T/d, syngas yield 11960 Nm3/d. The syngas quality shows CH4 content <1.0% and (H2 + CO) content > 86.5%. The semi-coke is favored product used for Si-Fe alloy and carbide production. Its volatile rate is lower than 4.00% and electrical resistance is higher than 1506Ω.mm 2. m-1 at 1300°C. The content of phenol in the tar is 16.25%. The integrated apparatus, a clean technology is energy and resource efficient.

Abstract:In order to promote the environment-friendly and low-carbon transformation development of Chinese coking chemical industry,fundamental concept and principle of coking process engineering based on industrial practice are presented,with the goal of maximizing the process value,and taking the optimization of "Three-flow-one-process state"(material,energy and information flow and process state). as the measure. The 6-parameter evaluation system including transform degree,webbing degree,branching degree,sequential degree,cleaning degree,and intelligence degree is specifically proposed,and it is discussed and analyzed through different industry examples. The coking process engineering provides practical and feasible method reference for sustainable development of traditional coking chemical.

Abstract:Operating period of ethylene cracking furnace is determined by rate of coking on inner surface of its tube, so study of how to alleviate coking has become a hot topic for ethylene production. The negative effect of coking on ethylene production and coking mechanism were also introduced. Research progress in anti-coke coating technologies was reviewed, including online coating and offline coating technologies. The advantages and shortcomings of the two were compared. Development trend of anti-coke coating technologies and research targets were stated.

Abstract:China's unique energy reserve structure abundant in coal and scarce in crude oil and natural gas has promoted heavy investment on the research and development of clean coal chemical technologies during last two decades, which has turned China into a heartland for demonstrating, developing, and commercializing virtually every aspect of new coal chemical process technologies. Consequently, breakthroughs in coal gasification, indirect and direct coal-to-liquid (CTL) processes, and methanol-to-ole-fins (MTO) technologies are catching attention worldwide. Gasification technology for syngas production is the key to high plant availability and economic success for most coal chemical projects. During the past 20 years, both international and Chinese gasifier vendors have reaped great successes in licensing their technologies in the domestic market. Notably, the local vendors have been investing heavily on inventing and improving their technologies to suit the specific requirement of gasifying a variety of coals. The opposed multinozzle gasification technology from Fast China University of Science and Technology was taken as an example to demonstrate the recent development in this field. The coal chemical industry in China has witnessed several notable achievements in chemical engineering progress, namely CTL (indirect and direct) and MTO. Comprehensive reviews on topics such as catalysis, kinetics, and reactor design and process integration will be provided by leading scientists in related fields with firsthand information to showcase the contributions of Chinese researchers to chemical engineering science and technology.

Study on advanced treatment of coking wastewater by iron-carbon micro-electrolysis process

Abstract:Advanced treatment of coking wastewater by iron-carbon micro-electrolysis process with aeration was studied.It was found the COD removal efficiency reached 30%~40% with 10 g/L active carbon 30 g/L iron material and 200 mg/L sodium chloride after 240 min reaction.Low pH condition improved the COD removal efficiency.The micro-electrolysis process can remove the refractory organic compounds.The dominant contaminants in the effluent are ester and alkyl compounds,which have the low molecular weight less than 2000 Da.The process enhanced the biodegradability of the effluent evidently,for BOD5/COD ratio increased from 0.08 to 0.53.Therefore,iron-carbon micro-electrolysis process is an effective means for advanced treatment of coking wastewater.

Abstract:Purification degree was proposed in order to be taken as a reference for evaluating waste treatment process in the coking process.Process emission reduction and lowering terminal treatment cost were important ways to improve the purification degree in the coking process.Then the analysis was made by taking example of the treatment process of phenol-cyanogen wastewater and coke oven flue gas.For phenol-cyanogen wastewater treatment process,new technologies were introduced.And it was shown that wastewater emission decreased by 29.86％ and purification degree increased by 42.58％.Similarly,for coke oven flue gas treatment process,double ammonia process integrating desulfurization and denitrification was adopted,with a cost saving of about 50％ and process purification degree increased by nearly one time compared with existing process.
