Use of Biogas Slurry in Aeroponics

Abstract:This paper is aimed at solving the pressing problem of biogas slurry pollution.Applying biogas slurry as liquid fertilizer to aeroponics is an effective way to combine emission reduction with resource recovery.Results showed that biogas slurry is a good organic fertilizer.The biogas slurry from cow manure digestion,which is relatively in proper nutrition composition,was chosen to be used in this study.Before being applied to aeroponics,the slurry was pre-treated with aeration for 24 h,adjusted the pH to 6.0 ～ 8.0,and EC to 1.2 ～ 3 mS.cm-1.The vegetables planted by aeroponics with the biogas slurry were in high quality with higher contents of vitamin C,total sugar,and other indexes,comparing with the vegetables planted by the aeroponics with inorganic nutrient solution.And the content of nitrate was much lower.Besides,the economic analysis showed that biogas slurry-aeroponics could save 24 000 Yuan of operation cost per Mu.
