The Characteristics and Modes of Cultural Clusters in Nanjing

Abstract:Based on the analysis of the concept, characteristics and types of cultural clusters in western countries, through the observation of the cultural space within the scope of the main area of Nanjing, the paper sets up six judging elements and standards such as gathering size, gathering scale, cultural endowment, cultural content, relevance and identification and chooses seven clusters in Nanjing as typical culture clusters of this study. And then, the paper summarizes the characteristics into the status development of the cultural clusters in Nanjing from aspects of the spatial distribution, functional structure and internal links. On this basis, the paper identifies the typical cultural clusters in Nanjing from the four dimensions of the originator accesses, commercial types, economic functions and manage-ment systems and reveals the diversity and multi-dimensional of cultural clusters.
