Abstract:Ge-Yi is an original way of teaching or translating classic Buddhist scripture, in which concepts ,terminologies in Confucian ,Taoist are matched with those in Buddhism, subsequently, furthermore, a method to explain ideology of Buddhism with modes of thought from Confucian, Taoist. Ge was an obligatory compromise for Buddhism to be rooted in China in early days which has great influence in process of Chinese characteristic of Buddhism. There are three developing phases in Ge -Yi , correspondingly, impact of traditional culture upon Buddhism evolved tri-courses ,namely, from the outside to the inside, from superficiality to the depth.
