The differential diagnostic value of HRV analysis in people with functional and organic ST-T changes

Abstract:Objective To study the differential diagnostic value of HRV analysis in people with functional and organic ST-T changes. Methods 24h HRV were examined in 40 people with pure ST-T changes, 41 cases with both organic cardiovascular disease and ST-T changes and 40 healthy people. The HRV changes in awake-time and sleeping-time were observed also. Results HRV abnormality were found both in pure ST-T and organic ST-T changes groups. In the pure ST-T changes group, HRV increased, TP 4227±1456ms2 vs 2893±677ms2(p<0.01), HF 440±254ms2 vs 242±109ms2 (p<0.01), the increase of HRV in sleeping time was significantly greater, but in the later, HRV decreased continuously, HF 108±66ms2 vs 242±109ms2(p<0.01);the increase of HRV in sleeping time was smaller and LF/HF increased. Conclutions Different HRV changes were abserved both in pure ST-T and organic ST-T changes groups. HRV analysis has important significance in the differentiation between two groups.
