Discussion on the Design of Classical Garden and Its Enlightenment to Modern Landscape Design

Abstract:Garden's in-motion viewing and in-position viewing are two basic decent ways in classical garden design and the practice of appriation.In-motion viewing is moving observation from changing angles and in-position viewing is lingering observation from fixed angles.In small-scale garden,the later type should be predominant and the former should be the case in large-scale gardens.Usually the two ways are compared together,the motion is in the reverse and the motion has the repose.Based on the concept of classical garden's in-motion viewing and in-position viewing,in this article the theories affected it was analyzed,and finally its enlightment to the modern landscape design was discussed.
