Abstract:Giant magnetostrictive micro actuator based on giant magnetostrive material and principle of electromagnetic transform need have steady and linearly varying magnetic field, then its output will have high linearity. So a kind of digital drive method is presented for this problem in this paper. The digital drive method will integrate the digital incremental PID into the traditional constant current drive system, and introduce the intensity of magnetic field and strain of giant magnetostrictive micro actuator as feedback controlled quantity, which can make up closed loop system. Among the digital drive method, the constant-current drive system includes power amplifier part, feedback circuit of intensity of magnetic field and strain etc. This method not only improves the stability and linearity of magnetic field, but also doesn't need other displacement sensor which will be used to detect the strain of giant magnetostrictive micro actuator. By analyzing the relation between magneto-mechanical coefficient and giant magnetostrictive micro actuator's unique performance that is big stain coefficient, high output force and sensitive displacement resolution, performance parameter and output current index of the digital drive method is presented. Through analyzing experimental result with least square, we get the result that the linearity of this drive method's input and output current is high. Output current can be adjusted continuously from -2A-+2A and ripples of output current are less than 4mA.
