Abstract:Mass Customization (MC) is essentially that manufacturers and customers cooperate either to design or to assemble a customized product or service through flexible processes. It is becoming one of the main production models in the 21(st) century. Compared with traditional mass production, mass customization involves in a large amount of information and need a mechanism to manage and control information flow among the collaborative business units. This article, based on mechanical manufacturing, analyzes the information management requirement in mass custornization and presents the design and implementation of an enterprise management information system for mass custornization (MCEMIS). An object-oriented system model is established to support the system integration. A prototype system which consists of three modules is developed to allow customers to interact conveniently with manufacturers and support mass custornization production of manufacturer. It makes enterprise keep a good relationship with customers and escalates the enterprise's product development and management level as well as competition ability.
