Abstract:In this paper we introduce Lagrangian Bonnet pairs in the complex projective plane CP2 and derive a Lawson-Tribuzy type theorem. We also present examples of compact Lagrangian Bonnet pairs with genus one in Cp-2.

Abstract:In this paper we first give a Bonnet theorem for conformal Lagrangian surfaces in complex space forms, then we show that any compact Lagrangian surface in the complex space form admits at most one other global isometric Lagrangian surface with the same mean curvature form, unless the Maslov form is conformal. These two Lagrangian surfaces are then called Lagrangian Bonnet pairs. We also studied the question about Lagrangian Bonnet surfaces in $\tilde{M}^2(4c)$, and obtain some interesting results.

Abstract:Further geometry and topology for pseudo-holomorphic curves in complex Grassmannians Gn(CN) are studied. Some curvature pinching theorems for pseudo-holomorphic curves with constant Kahler angles in G(m)(C-N) are obtained, so that the corresponding results for pseudo-holomorphic curves in complex projective spaces are generalized.

Abstract:We construct a Lagrangian submanifold, inside the cotangent bundle of a real torus, which we call a Lagrangian pair of pants. It is given as the graph of the differential of a smooth function defined on the real blow up of a Lagrangian coamoeba. Lagrangian pairs of pants are the main building blocks in a construction of smooth Lagrangian submanifolds of $(\mathbb{C}^*)^n$ which lift tropical subvarieties in $\mathbb{R}^n$. As an example we explain how to lift tropical curves in $\mathbb{R}^2$ to Lagrangian submanifolds of $(\mathbb{C}^*)^2$. We also give several new examples of Lagrangian submanifolds inside toric varieties, some of which are monotone.

Abstract:Recently, there has been great interest in the application of composition laws to problems in enumerative geometry. Using the moduli space of stable maps, we compute the number of irreducible, reduced, nodal, degree-$d$ genus-$2$ plane curves whose normalization has a fixed complex structure and which pass through $3d - 2$ general points in $\Bbb P^2$.

Abstract:This paper surveys Campana's theory of C-pairs (or "geometric orbifolds") in the complex-analytic setting, to serve as a reference for future work. Written with a view towards applications in hyperbolicity, rational points, and entire curves, it introduces the fundamental definitions of C-pair-theory systematically. In particular, it establishes an appropriate notion of "morphism", which agrees with notions from the literature in the smooth case, but is better behaved in the singular setting and has functorial properties that relate it to minimal model theory.

Abstract:Links in $S^3$ as well as Legendrian links in the standard tight contact structure on $S^3$ can be encoded by grid diagrams. These consist of a collection of points on a toroidal grid, connected by vertical and horizontal edges. Blackwell, Gay and second author studied triple grid diagrams, a generalization where the points are connected by vertical, horizontal and diagonal edges. In certain cases, these determine Lagrangian surfaces in $\mathbb{CP}^2$. However, it was difficult to construct explicit examples of triple grid diagrams, either by an approximation method or combinatorial search. We give an elegant geometric construction that produces the moduli space of all triple grid diagrams. By conditioning on the abstract graph underlying the triple grid diagram, as opposed to the grid size, the problem reduces to linear algebra and can be solved quickly in polynomial time.

Abstract:We construct three families of pairs of genus 2 curves over a field K, whose Jacobians are isomorphic as unpolarized abelian varieties. Each family is parameterized by an open subset of the Projective line over K. Our construction is based on a remark in a paper by Howe. Later, we describe an obstruction to perusing the same technique over Q.

Abstract:We study the non-klt locus of singularities of pairs. We show that given a pair $(X,B)$ and a projective morphism $X\to Z$ with connected fibres such that $-(K_X+B)$ is nef over $Z$, the non-klt locus of $(X,B)$ has at most two connected components near each fibre of $X\to Z$. This was conjectured by Hacon and Han. In a different direction we answer a question of Mark Gross on connectedness of the non-klt loci of certain pairs. This is motivated by constructions in Mirror Symmetry.

Abstract:We extend the techniques introduced in \cite{DoMaB1} for contractible Riemann surfaces to construct minimal Lagrangian immersions from arbitrary Riemann surfaces into $\mathbb{C}P^2$ via the loop group method. Based on the potentials of translationally equivariant minimal Lagrangian surfaces, we introduce perturbed equivariant minimal Lagrangian surfaces in $\mathbb{C}P^2$ and construct a class of minimal Lagrangian cylinders. Furthermore, we show that these minimal Lagrangian cylinders approximate Delaunay cylinders with respect to some weighted Wiener norm of the twisted loop group $\Lambda SU(3)_{\sigma}$.

Neck-Pinching of $CP^1$-structures in the $PSL(2,C)$-character variety

Abstract:We characterize a certain neck-pinching degeneration of (marked) $CP^1$- structures on a closed oriented surface S of genus at least two. Namely, we consider a path $C_t$ of $CP^1$-structures on S leaving every compact subset in the deformation space of (marked) $CP^1$-structures on S, such that its holonomy converges in the PSL(2, C)-character variety. In this setting, it is known that the complex structure $X_t$ of $C_t$ also leaves every compact subset in the Teichmüller space. In this paper, under the assumption that $X_t$ is pinched along a single loop m, we describe the limit of $C_t$ in terms of the developing maps, holomorphic quadratic differentials, and pleated surfaces. Moreover, we give an example of such a path $C_t$ whose limit holonomy is the trivial representation in the character variety.

Abstract:We prove a number of results relating various measures (volume, Legendrian index, stability index, and spectral curve genus) of the geometric complexity of special Lagrangian $T^2$-cones. We explain how these results fit into a program to understand the "most common" three-dimensional isolated singularities of special Lagrangian submanifolds in almost Calabi-Yau manifolds.

Abstract:By constructing a holomorphic cubic form for Lagrangian surfaces with nonzero constant length mean curvature vector in a 2-dimensional complex space form $\tilde M$(4c), we characterize the Lagrangian pesudosphere as the only branched Lagrangian immersion of a sphere in $\tilde M$(4c) with nonzero constant length mean curvature vector. When c = 0, our result reduces to Castro-Urbano’s result in [1].

Abstract:The fundamental group of the complement of a locally flat surface in a 4‐manifold is called the knot group of the surface. In this article, we prove that two locally flat 2‐spheres in CP2 with knot group Z2 are ambiently isotopic if they are homologous. This combines with work of Tristram and Lee–Wilczyński, as well as the classification of Z ‐surfaces, to complete a proof of the statement: a class d∈H2(CP2)≅Z is represented by a locally flat sphere with abelian knot group if and only if |d|∈{0,1,2} ; and this sphere is unique up to ambient isotopy.

Abstract:The Riemannian product of two hyperbolic planes of constant Gaussian curvature -1 has a natural Kähler structure. In fact, it can be identified with the complex hyperbolic quadric of complex dimension two. In this paper we study Lagrangian surfaces in this manifold. We present several examples and classify the totally umbilical and totally geodesic Lagrangian surfaces, the Lagrangian surfaces with parallel second fundamental form, the minimal Lagrangian surfaces with constant Gaussian curvature and the complete minimal Lagrangian surfaces satisfying a bounding condition on an important function that can be defined on any Lagrangian surface in this particular ambient space.

Exponential Networks for Linear Partitions

Abstract:Previous work has given proof and evidence that BPS states in local Calabi-Yau 3-folds can be described and counted by exponential networks on the punctured plane, with the help of a suitable non-abelianization map to the mirror curve. This provides an appealing elementary depiction of moduli of special Lagrangian submanifolds, but so far only a handful of examples have been successfully worked out in detail. In this note, we exhibit an explicit correspondence between torus fixed points of the Hilbert scheme of points on $\mathbb C^2\subset\mathbb C^3$ and anomaly free exponential networks attached to the quadratically framed pair of pants. This description realizes an interesting, and seemingly novel, "age decomposition" of linear partitions. We also provide further details about the networks' perspective on the full D-brane moduli space.

Abstract:In this paper, the binary Bell polynomials are applied to succinctly construct bilinear formulism, bilinear Bäcklund transformations, Lax pairs, and Darboux covariant Lax pairs for the (2+1)-dimensional breaking soliton equation. An extra auxiliary variable is introduced to get the bilinear formulism. The infinitely local conservation laws of the equation are found by virtue of its Lax equation and a generalized Miura transformation. All conserved densities and fluxes are given with explicit recursion formulas.
