Abstract:In this paper, we solve one-dimensional SU(3) bosons with repulsive delta-function interaction using the Bethe ansatz method. The features of the ground and low-lying excited states are studied by both numerical and analytical methods. We show that the ground state is a SU(3) colour ferromagnetic state. The configurations of quantum numbers for the ground state are given explicitly. For a finite N system, the spectra of low-lying excitations and the dispersion relations of four possible elementary particles (holon, antiholon, sigma-coloron and omega-coloron) are obtained by solving the Bethe ansatz equation numerically. The thermodynamic equilibrium of the system at finite temperature is studied by using the strategy of the thermodynamic Bethe ansatz; we give a revised Gaudin-Takahashi equation which is useful for the numerical method. Thermodynamic quantities, such as specific heat, are obtained for some special cases. We find that the magnetic property of the model in the high-temperature regime is dominated by Curie's law, chi proportional to 1/T, and the system has Fermi-liquid-like specific heat in the strong coupling limit at low temperature.

Abstract:A one-dimensional model for two-band SU(2) bosons with isospin exchange interaction is solved by means of the nested Bethe-ansatz method. The features of the ground state and low-lying excitation state are discussed explicitly by numerical and analytical method. The thermodynamics of the system is analyzed by means of the thermodynamic Bethe-ansatz method, and some physical quantities, such as magnetization, specific heat, etc. are obtained explicitly in some special cases.

Abstract:It is pointed out that the difficulty in boson models in explaining the large B(E2) experimental data is not due to the lack of collectivity in boson model wavefunction. This long standing problem of reduction in collectivity of wavefunction in boson models can be solved by choosing an appropriate E2 transition operator in the SU(3) limit of the sdg-interacting boson model. The ratio B(E2, L + 2 → L) / B(E2, 2 → 0) can be almost any large number.

Abstract:We show in this paper that the superdeformed nuclear states can be described with a four parameter formula in the spirit of the perturbated SU(3) limit of the sdg IBM. The E2 transition gamma-ray energies, the dynamical moments of inertia of the lowest superdeformed (SD) bands in even-even Hg, Pb, Gd, and Dy isotopes, and the energy differences Delta E-gamma-Delta E-gamma(ref) of the SD band 1 of Hg-194 are calculated. The calculated results agree with experimental data well. This indicates that the SD states are governed by a rotational interaction plus a perturbation with SOsdg(5) symmetry. The perturbation causing the Delta I=4 bifurcation to emerge in the Delta I=2 superdeformed rotational band may then possess SOsdg(5) symmetry.

Abstract:The Su(3) limit intrinsic states in the interacting boson model (IBM) are given by the group theoretical method. A method to calculate the physical states from the intrinsic states is given. Using this method, the physical states of the SU(3) limit ground state band are given completely. Some preliminary results are also obtained for beta and gamma band states. The wavefunctions obtained are expressed in terms of the five building blocks of the IBM wave functions belonging to Sun, Zhang, and Feng. In the SU(3) limit it is found that the building block T+d, which represents three d bosons coupled to zero angular momentum, appears even in the ground state band wavefunctions. The wavefunctions have very interesting physical implications.

The algebraic structure including the generators, the Casimir operators of the groups at the SU (5) dynamical symmetry and the branching rules of the irreducible representation reductions along the group chain are obtained. Abstract:We show that the superdeformed nuclear states can be described in the framework of the interacting boson model (IBM) with the g-bosons being taken into account in this paper. The ΔI = 4 bifurcation in superdeformed rotational bands can be reproduced in the SU(5) limit of the sdg IBM. The perturbation causing the ΔI = 4 bifurcation to emerge in the ΔI = 2 superdeformed rotational band may possess the SU(5) symmetry.

Abstract:Collective states in the very neutron-rich nucleus 98Sr are studied in the SU(3) limit of the interacting boson model. It is found that the spectrum is well reproduced with the SU(3) limit. The available E2 transitions are also in good agreement with the SU(3) limit. In particular the association of the 22 + state with 2�� is consistent with the present experimental E2 transition data.

Abstract:Based on the hadronic resonance picture, we explore a unified framework to describe the observed Zcs and Zc states that are close to the thresholds of the D(*)D ̄s(*) and D(*)D ̄(*) systems, respectively. We assume that the Zcs(4000) and Zcs(3985) are two different states. Specifically, we assign the Zcs(4000) as the SU(3) partner of the Zc(3900) ( JPC=1+− ) due to its observation in the J/ΨK channel, the difficulty of this assignment is the large width difference between the Zcs(4000) and the Zc(3900) state. Then the Zcs(3985) should corresponds to the Zc state that is close to the threshold of DD ̄* system with JPC=1++ , the difficulty of this assignment is the absence of such a Zc state in experiment. We construct the effective potentials of the Zcs and Zc states by analogy with the effective potentials of the leading-order and next-to-leading-order N−N ̄ interactions. Then we introduce an SU(3) breaking factor gx to identify the differences between the effective potentials in the Zcs and Zc states. We perform two calculations to discuss the differences and similarities of the Zcs and Zc states. In the first calculation, we show that the above two difficulties can be explained simultaneously by the inclusion of the SU(3) breaking effect. In the second calculation, we show that this framework is promising to simultaneously describe the interactions of the observed Zcs and Zc states that are close to the thresholds of the D(*)D ̄s(*) and D(*)D ̄(*) systems, respectively. https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevD.109.034010 Published by the American Physical Society under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license. Abstract:The SU(3) limit of the isospin invariant IBM-IBM3 is studied. The decomposition rules are given for N less than or equal to 9. An analytical formula for the decomposition of the U(6) [N, 1] is given. Typical spectrum is discussed. Different forms of the interaction and their relation are obtained. Transition operators are also discussed.

Abstract:Meson-nucleon scatterings are investigated in an SU(3) × SU(3) σ model with scalar, vector, pseudoscalar and pseudovector couplings between mesons and baryons. From the calculation of effective coupling constants, sigma terms and s-wave scattering lengths for πN and K+N scatterings in the tree approximation, we find that the pseudoscalar coupling dominates s- and u-channel baryon Born terms, and the cancellation between the scalar and vector interactions leads to reasonable meson-nucleon scattering properties.

Abstract:In this paper we solve one-dimensional trapped SU( 2) bosons with repulsive δ-function interaction by means of the Bethe-ansatz method. The features of ground state and low-lying excited states are studied by numerical and analytic methods. We show that the ground state is an isospin ‘ferromagnetic’ state which differs from spin- 1 fermion systems. There exist three quasi-particles in the excitation spectra, and both holon–antiholon and holon–isospinon excitations are gapless for large systems. The equilibrium thermodynamics of the system at finite temperature is studied using the thermodynamic Bethe ansatz. The thermodynamic quantities, such as specific heat, etc, are obtained for the case of the strong coupling limit.

Abstract:Inspired by the resonance Tcc+(3875) recently observed by the LHCb Collaboration, we systematically explore the S - and P -wave ccq ̄q ̄′ (q ̄,q ̄′=u ̄,d ̄,s ̄) systems in a chiral SU(3) quark model. The Hamiltonian contains the kinetic energy, the one-gluon-exchange (OGE) potential, the confinement potential, and the one-boson-exchange (OBE) potential stemming from the coupling of quark and chiral fields. The Schrödinger equation is solved by use of the variational method with the spacial trial wave functions chosen as Gaussian functions. It is found that the lowest state has a mass 3879 MeV, isospin and spin-parity IJP=01+ , and quark constituent ccu ̄d ̄ , in agreement with the experimentally observed Tcc+(3875) . This state is approximately at the calculated DD* threshold and has a root-mean-square radius of about 0.48 fm. These demonstrate that the Tcc+(3875) can be accommodated as a stable and compact tetraquark sate in the chiral SU(3) quark model. All the other S - and P -wave ccq ̄q ̄′ (q ̄,q ̄′=u ̄,d ̄,s ̄) states lie about 100 to a few hundreds MeV higher than the corresponding meson-meson thresholds and thus are not suggested to be candidates of stable and compact tetraquark states due to their fall-apart decays to two mesons. https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevD.109.074026 Published by the American Physical Society under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license. Abstract:Elliott's SU(3) model is at the basis of the shell-model description of rotational motion in atomic nuclei. We demonstrate that SU(3) symmetry can be realized in a truncated shell-model space if constructed in terms of a sufficient number of collective $S$, $D$, $G$, $\dots$ pairs (i.e., with angular momentum zero, two, four, $\dots$) and if the structure of the pairs is optimally determined either by a conjugate-gradient minimization method or from a Hartree-Fock intrinsic state. We illustrate the procedure for 6 protons and 6 neutrons in the $pf$ ($sdg$) shell and exactly reproduce the level energies and electric quadrupole properties of the ground-state rotational band with $SDG$ ($SDGI$) pairs. The $SD$-pair approximation without significant renormalization, on the other hand, cannot describe the full SU(3) collectivity. A mapping from Elliott's fermionic SU(3) model to systems with $s$, $d$, $g$, $\dots$ bosons provides insight into the existence of a decoupled collective subspace in terms of $S$, $D$, $G$, $\dots$ pairs.

Collective excitations in 98,100Sr

Abstract:Collective states in the neutron-rich Sr isotopes with A=98,100 have been studied in the SU(3) limit of the interacting boson model. It was found that the spectrum is well reproduced with the SU(3) limit. Being different from previous studies, the results obtained in this study showed that the assumption of 0.871 MeV state in 98Sr as the 2�� state is consistent with the available E2 transition data. The SU(3) treatment of the nucleus is a crude approach. More elaborated Hamiltonian will give refinement to both the spectrum and E2 transition.
